Foliar Products to Promote Early Rapid Growth
After planting is done, it is time to consider what can be done to ensure rapid growth and good health of the emerging crop. AgriGuardian™ offers a wide range of foliar applied nutrients and plant growth stimulants to help the crop get a rapid start for the new season.
AgriGuardian MicroMix Complete™
A sugar-based chelated formulation containing all essential plant nutrients needed by all crops. Most soils are low in one or more micronutrients, so this broad-spectrum micronutrient product helps to ensure that these micronutrients are available to the crops. It is compatible with most chemicals and fertilizers, and enhances weed kill by helping move the chemicals inside the weeds. With glyphosate-based herbicides it offsets the tie up of micronutrients by glyphosate in the crop, and thus prevents yellow-flash in glyphosate treated crops.
AgriGuardian Moly™
A sugar-based chelated molybdenum complex that is needed by all crops. Molybdenum is the most common micronutrient deficiency in agricultural soils. Molybdenum is especially needed early in plant growth for the formation of nodules and for nitrogen fixation in soybeans, peas, dry beans, alfalfa and other nitrogen fixing crops. Molybdenum is also needed for the production of indoleacetic acid (IAA), a growth regulator that controls the size and length of the corn ear (that is, the number of kernels formed), and head size of wheat and other grains. Use of foliar applied molybdenum is particularly important in low pH soils where it is not available to the crop.
AgriGuardian Zinc™
A sugar-based chelated zinc product that is also required for the production of indoleacetic acid (IAA) in all crops. It is needed in greater quantities that molybdenum, but both are required for production of IAA. Zinc is also involved in the formation of carbohydrates and proteins needed for plant growth. Young plants deficient in zinc will have a yellowish appearance, which may be hard to distinguish from other nutrient deficiencies.
AgriGuardian Nutra-Boost®
A blend of potassium, magnesium and sulfur nutrients designed for foliar application where these nutrients are limiting plant growth. In young plants, the product is beneficial because the root systems are often not able to take up these nutrients in quantities to meet the crop’s needs, or simply these nutrients are not readily available in the soil. For example, soils high in calcium will inhibit the availability and uptake of magnesium by plants.
AgriCal®
A sugar-based chelated calcium product, which can be soil or foliar applied. Calcium binds cell walls together to make strong, rigid stems and other structures. With corn and other agronomic crops, calcium deficiency shows up as weak stems and crop lodging. Calcium is also an important in helping to move other soil nutrients into the plant.
Foliar Blend®
A biostimulant that enhances overall growth, especially roots. It stimulates beneficial microbial populations and helps to reduce diseases in crops. It is a source of proteins, enzymes, amino acids and complex carbohydrates not available in ordinary fertilizers.
Ful-Grow®
A fulvic acid product that enhances the activity and benefits of applied nutrients and chemicals. It binds with nutrients both applied and in soil to make them more available and usable. An economical means to increase the efficacy of applied products, thereby increasing yields and profitability.
