Our Fearless Fashion Camp is coming up in July! Have you ever wanted to design your own clothes? Let us show you each step of the process, from your sketch to the runway, using our fabrics, notions, sewing materials and machines. Join us and have fun working to make your dream garment while working alongside others with their own vision and the same goal! |

The camp will run for two weeks from Monday, July 9th - 13th, & 16th - 20th from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The cost for the 2 week camp is $80, and is for ages 10 & up. The Crochet Flower Shawl class is coming up on Monday, June 11th, 18th, and 25th from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Come to one or all and learn how to make this pretty lacy flower shawl! On Tuesday, May 22 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., we have our Working with Paper Patterns class. Sometimes commercial sewing patterns can be a little confusing from finding the right size to understanding what to do with all the tissue pattern pieces. In this class you'll learn how to get started with your pattern materials, and how to adjust it to fit you just right. You can also find many sewing patterns at at our shop! |

Mamie has been making some wonderful shawls this winter for herself, family, and friends. This latest creation is soft and warm. We love the long fringe! Mamie volunteers on Fridays and makes fabulous scrappy bags for our Scrappy Land shoppers! Sometimes she stays and joins in our Friday afternoon Knit and Crochet Club. Thank you all for sharing your project pictures with us! |

Machine Knitting Demos Antique circular sock knitting machine, and flat bed knitting machine demos by Trudy, and Joanna. Come see how quickly these machines can knit during our Kids' Sewing Club! Takes place on Saturday, May 19th from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Rub-Off a Pattern Do you have a garment that you love to wear? It's the perfect fit, or drape, and you just can't find another quite like it? Don't despair! You don't have to take it apart to duplicate it. Bring it in, and we will help you recreate it without tearing apart your favorite piece of clothing. This class will be taught in two parts: Part 1 - Saturday, May 19 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Part 2 - Saturday, May 26 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Block by Block Quilt Class Learn the basics of machine piecing a quilt by making a different block each week in May. Whether you have never quilted before or have some experience, we’ll help you master the basics of rotary cutting, sewing a perfect 1/4” seam, and combining fabrics for a pleasing design. Each week you will cut out and sew one or two blocks. You may choose fabrics from our collection or bring fabrics of your own. $35 for the 5 week session or $10 drop-in. Offered every Wednesday in May from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Steam Blocking for Knit & Crochet Learn how to use the steam iron to block your knitted and crocheted pieces! We'll take you through the basics of prepping your piece as well how to get the right shape through this process. Steam blocking can also help set your stitches, and give your knitting and crocheting a more finished/polished look! Offered Monday, May 21 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Working with Paper Patterns You've bought a sewing pattern, and opened the package. What's with all the tissue paper inside? We can teach you what to do with your pattern materials, and how to adjust it to fit you just right. Students may benefit from taking our Measure Up! class first. Professional measurements will be included. Offered Tuesday, May 29 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Learn to Crochet with Joanna Have you always wanted to learn how to crochet? Now's your chance! Join us at the shop as Joanna teaches the basics of crocheting, and more! Offered Monday, June 4 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Zippers made Easy Need closure? Learn how to sew in zippers. Make them invisible or flaunt them! Come learn how. Prerequisite: Sewing Machine 101 Offered Tuesday, June 5 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sewing Machine 101/201 Make friends with a sewing machine in our shop, or bring yours from home. We will take you through the basics of machine operation and safety, and guide you toward sewing a project. In Sewing Machine 201, build on the skills you've gained in Sewing Machine 101. Is there a sewing project that interests you, or that you want to complete? How can your newly-gained sewing machine skills help you achieve that goal? This is the place and time to learn! These classes are great for ages 10 & up (or younger with an adult present). Prerequisite: Sewing Machine 101 Offered Saturday, June 9 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Offered Tuesday, June 19 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Crochet Flower Shawl Crochet some wearable flowers for Spring and Summer! In this class you'll learn how to crochet openwork stitches to create lace and flower shapes within this pretty shawl. Attend all classes, or come as you are able. $10 per 2-hour class. Offered Monday, June 11, 18, & 25 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Measure-Up/Fit-It Do you have clothing items that almost work, but not quite? Remember... Every Saturday is Scrappy Saturday! Our small scrappy bags stuffed with scraps and rolls of fabric and/or unmarked balls of yarn are only $1 all day (regularly $3 on weekdays). Bring your own grocery-sized tote and stuff it full for only $5 (regularly $10). Stop by and fill a bag this Saturday, and every Saturday! |
