Salado Montessori

End of the Week Update

What marvelous strides we have made!  This week some of our oldest learners began to dig into the Continents Puzzle, our Land and Water Forms work (peninsula, cape, system of lakes, etc), Sandpaper Letters, the Moveable Alphabet and vocabulary cards.

These works are the hands-on materials that make Montessori pre-school and kindergarten so impactful.

"Writing with the Moveable Alphabet is the beginning of self-expression, and sets into motion a lifetime of putting our thoughts, hopes, and dreams down on paper."

Observation and Conferences

"One of the most vital teaching tools available to Montessori teachers is observation. Scientifically applied observation skills allow the practitioner to assess situations, children and strategies without judgment and is a critical component of lesson planning and management of the classroom."  montessoriguide.org/observation

Parents, your opportunity to observe in our classroom is just around the corner.  Please be on the lookout for an email from Ms. Webb regarding your assigned observation time and day, which will be sometime during the week of April 16-19.

But you don't have to wait until then to start observing your little one

in a more 'Montessori' way:

How to Observe at Home

In addition to observation, you'll also get a chance to chat one-on-one with

Ms. Webb regarding your kiddo's progress on April 23 during our upcoming

Parent Conferences.  Please mark your calendars and start thinking about questions you may have for Ms. Webb.

SPONSOR RECOGNITION

We all have mentors, and so does Salado Montessori!

Thirty years ago a young mom named Liz Sibley decided to start a Montessori school in Alpine (a beautiful village just on the outskirts of Big Bend).  Liz relied on the kind mentorship of Joe and Claire Bruno to help get her little school off the ground - and so did we!  Liz, Joe, and Claire have answered numerous calls, questions, supplied forms, handbooks, and learning materials all to help our sweet little school grow.  We've said it before, and we'll say it for years to come:

Thank you Liz!  Thank you Joe!  Thank you Claire!  <3 <3 <3
