Hey friends!

I hope you're all doing well. If you missed it on Instagram, I have another quick life update. These past couple of months have not been good for me. But first...

I hope you all have spooky and safe Halloween!

Update

As I said in my last email, I had surgery on September 18th. I was doing well until October 9th. My husband had to take me to the ER. I was in severe pain, and then I started vomiting (sorrry, TMI). They discovered the problem was a complication from my surgery, so I had to undergo another surgery (without a nerve block) to fix it. Needless to say, this time around, I've experienced a lot more pain, and it's taking me longer to recover.

However, I want to share a fun announcement with you all!

SERIES TITLE REVEAL

I'm not good at keeping secrets, and I've wanted to share something more about my new series with you, so I thought I'd reveal the series title. This is not the title of book one but of the entire series.

I've been calling my series Project Shadows for a while now, so you'll probably be able to figure out part of the title.

Are you ready?

Scroll down to find out the series title.

In the series, there are two secret societies, and one is called the Order of Shadows. The series focuses more on this society, so I felt like it'd make a better series title.

Plus, it goes with the tagline. In every city, secrets lie in the shadows. Lastly, all the books in the Order of Shadows series will have the

word Shadows in it.

I'd love to know what you think of the title! You can simply reply to this email or contact me on Instagram.

Despite not feeling up to doing much, I've managef to sit at my desk and work a bit more on revisions for book one. It's slowly coming together. I plan to send my MS to my critique partners by December 1st.

That gives me all of November to finish it.

At the beginning of this year, my goal was to write more than one book, but life happens, so there are times when you need to give yourself grace

and go with the flow.

OCTOBER BOOKSHELF

This month, I had the opportunity to get an early copy of Brittany Wang's audiobook for her YA Fantasy novel On Wings of Ash & Dust. Years ago, I was a beta/sensitivity reader for Brittany, so it's been super exciting listening to the audiobook. Her narrator, Talon David, does an amazing job. I enjoyed hearing the characters come to life.

I've listened to many audiobooks, and there are some narrators I absolutely love. Talon is now one of them. If you enjoy no spice fantasy with a competition and unique fae, I highly recommend Brittany's book, especially the audiobook. To find out more as to when she's releasing the audiobook, check out her on Instagram at @authorbrittanywang. And if you'd like to connect with her wonderful narrator, Talon, you can find her at @talondavidvoices

Besides listening to Brittany's audiobook, the books that I enjoyed most were The Black Witch, Bonesmith, and Starling House.
