Remember Who He Is!

I absolutely love Christmas…the sparkling decorations, the twinkling lights, the smells of hot chocolate, peppermint and gingerbread, the sounds of carols rejoicing in the birth of Christ and sharing time with the ones we love! Amidst the hustle and bustle of purchasing gifts, baking cookies and preparing for Christmas, I have to stop what I am doing and truly recognize the peace of the season, the true comfort and joy of knowing that we get the opportunity to celebrate the birth of the Savior of the World!

During this time of year we get these precious moments to remember who He is and that God loves us so much that He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, so that we might receive eternal life if we believe in Him! We are reminded that the government rests on His shoulders and not on our own. We get to lay aside every stress that we have and give praise to God for being Wonderful enough to take upon every burden we try to carry. When we don't have answers to the challenges we face, we get to call on the greatest Counselor to provide us with direction! When our struggles seem too daunting, we can depend on a Mighty God to see us through. When we feel the pain from the loss of a loved one, we can count on the love and comfort from the Everlasting Father. And when chaos tries to envelop our minds, we can hold on to the Prince of Peace to provide us with a calmness that transcends our understanding.

The beauty of Christmas is that we don't just get the chance to just receive the gift of Christ, we get to be a gift to others! As we grow in our relationship with the Lord, we are given opportunities in life to shed His same unconditional love and light. So during this season and all the year through, let us be wonderful examples of His forgiveness, wisdom, strength, comfort and peace to those who might need it, and quite frankly to those who don't deserve it. Grace is a gift and when we find it in our hearts to extend it, we sow seeds of life that will never perish.

We had a fun and festive Christmas celebration at the 2nd Annual Mingle & Jingle at The Pineapple Hill Saloon and Grill. We are so thankful for all of the brave souls who endured the California sprinkle of rain drops to join us for a night of laughter, joy and cheer!

We raised funds beyond our goal and had a great time doing it. Our 50/50 Raffle Grand Prize Winner made out with just over $300! Of course all of the money we raised, would not have been possible without the support of Pineapple Hill Owner, Angela Marsden, and our generous donors who contributed to either the silent auction and/or the raffle. Please be sure to check out these small businesses who are supporters of freedom!
