Black Friday!?!? It is funny, because my kids asked just this week, "What is Black Friday?" While I sometimes feel like I am sheltering my children, I also pride myself in so many things that they don't know because to us, it just isn't important.

We hope you had a great Thanksgiving day relaxing and spending it however you wish. For us, we slept in! YIKES! On Wednesday, Thanksgiving Eve, we had our friend from college come from Illinois and breed our cows. Wade decides on what days to bred based on the Farmer's Alamac, which is influenced by the moon. I won't pretend to know anything else other than that. My job is to run the head gate and make sure no one slips through that shouldn't. LOL!

We finished breeding cows about 8:00 p.m. and had supper. The kids went to bed a little later than normal, around 9:00 p.m. Wade and I enjoyed visiting with our friend and just enjoying being in the company of someone who loves the things we do. So often, we get tied with the the mundane day to day things that we forget the basic things in life that can bring us joy....a good conversation.

Sunday, November 27th is the first Sunday in Advent. For me, this is the season of extra busy time at my job at church. At church, I serve as the Youth Director and the Administrative Assistant. I love my job for some many reasons, but it reminds me to reset and refocus on the important things, multiple times a year....not just Christmas and Easter.

As we start the Advent Season, I am reminded of the REASON. Whatever that is for you, for me, it is that I am just a small piece of the puzzle. I am just a building block, stepping stone to the bigger picture BUT I matter. My children matter. My family matters.

As you enter this Advent and Holiday season, I ask that you take time to reflect on all the things that you are blessed with. We are so thankful for each and every person that we talk to. Here is to a blessed holiday season.

WE HAVE PUPPIES!

Rosie puppies arrived on Monday. We are over the moon with these two little turkeys. Both of these boys have homes waiting for them. Check out the nursery here:

My go-to training tip for unwanted puppy & dog behaviors is...none other than a cheap $1 spray bottle filled with water. It has helped get my puppies off on the right foot and stop unwanted behaviors. Like anything, it doesn't always work...but here is a short article about it,

I am a HUGE Jack Reacher Fan. I am currently listening to this book and it is so good. I plan on finishing it as I travel today to Illinois to spend the next 36 hours with my family.

Wade & I are really late to get on this bandwagon. Funny story, we bought a T.V. last week, like a Smart T.V. and hooked it up. Many didn't believe us, but it is true. We haven't had a real T.V. since, well we moved to Iowa. Anyways, Wade and I always watched NCIS, but when Gibbs left...it just hasn't been the same so we have been on the Yellowstone kick...along with 12.2 million others. I have been a huge Kevin Costner fan FOREVER, and he doesn't disappoint here either. Go watch!
