Maid to LeadOur Maid to Lead participants are making excellent strides for our sisterhood! Our Wellness, Scholarship & Leadership, Events & Fundraising, and Marketing & Public Relations committees came up with great ideas to foster positive growth in our Order.
A cohort of Maid to Lead participants gathered in Philadelphia for a fun and productive weekend! They discussed important initiatives that will benefit the Maids of Athena while exploring the city, bonding as a group, and participating in Greek Independence Day festivities. We are happy to share some committee updates with you in this edition of the AtheNEA!
Please fill out the Scholarship & Leadership committee's inaugural MOA Sister Survey! We encourage all Maids to fill out this form so that we can hear from our members across the U.S. and Canada about their experiences in our Order. The survey is available until April 30th! Participating in this survey entitles your chapter to 50 bonus Growth & Expansion points. To claim these bonus points, please let Grand Vice President Mary Bellissimo (moagrandvicepresident@gmail.com) know in your monthly Growth & Expansion email, and she will verify using the survey responses. If you have any general questions about the survey, please email the Committee Chair, Grand Secretary Peggy Polydoros (moagrandsecretary@gmail.com).
Additionally, please enjoy these insightful graphics from our Wellness committee! |

Fashion 101It’s almost time to pack away the winter coats, ditch those heavy layers, and reunite with our spring wardrobe. Get ready for sunshine and good vibes with these Spring 2022 fashion trends! Pleated Skirts - Think school uniform but with a twist. Pair your pleated skirt with an oversized knit sweater for the perfect transitional outfit for those days when the weather feels like both winter and spring. Bold Colors - Swap your neutrals and pastels out and opt for bold, vibrant hues. Take some risks with your looks and add some bright greens, oranges, and pinks to your wardrobe to really make it pop! Y2K Nostalgia - The ’00s is making its comeback but with updated silhouettes that feel more elevated. Everyone is obsessed with miniskirts, babydoll tees, cutouts, and a new modernized take on low-rise bottoms. Use these tips to brighten your wardrobe and get you in the mood for spring! |

Sister SpotlightThis edition of the AtheNEA's Sisterhood Spotlight goes to Sister Victoria Lambrinoudis of Calgary! Victoria has been an active member of the Maids since she first joined. This year in particular, Victoria presented a local university program called “Connect Tutoring” to her Chapter and gave her sisters the wonderful opportunity to donate to them. This program consists of a team of university students offering free online tutoring for students from K-12 facing financial adversity. Victoria organized the collection and donation of school supplies to the program. She gathered information from the program representatives and volunteered to be the committee chair. Victoria is an advocate for those in need and contributed a significant amount of time to this cause. Because of this, her chapter was able to help support this tutoring program and provide them with school essentials. Overall, Victoria has really stood out in terms of upholding our values of truth, beauty, and goodness this year, and we are all very proud of her. Keep up the good work sister! |

Advisor's CornerDear Sisters, We are in our Lenten season, a time for us to reflect and be grateful for our families, our friendship, our health, and our Sisterhood. As a Maid of Athena, you are in a very special group of young women. You are navigating through school, jobs, careers, life. You are mentors, role models, leaders, organizers, and big Sisters! By doing all this, you are carving a path for other young women to follow in your footsteps to have the same amazing experiences you are all having in this Sisterhood. Your Maids of Athena Grand Lodge works very hard to keep this path. Led by their Grand President Maria Ana, they are busy reactivating chapters and successfully helping new ones to start. Your Chapters are strong and growing! I encourage you all to continue to be active in your Chapters. Step up when it is your time to take a leading role, and share your experiences with other young women your age to join in on your amazing journey in the Maids of Athena! Orlando, Florida is the site for our AHEPA Family Supreme Convention this year. Hope to see you all there!
With Love in Theta Pi, Patty Didik Grand Advisor to the Maids of Athena
