Hi, how are you today? We'd like to share a few things we're enthusiastic about. Things that can be shared over a cup of tea - which we regularly do - and made us think; let's make a nice collection and share*. Cause we love to. Whether it's stories, food, a nice gem or beautifully crafted things by inspiring people!

In a few weeks a yearly returning design circus called DDW hits Eindhoven, the town we live in. For the launch of this gallery we offer cosy-autumn-options - expo's, experiences and chill taverns - throughout this festival.

Oh, and please let us know if there's anything you're looking for in the area of Eindhoven. Anything. Maybe we can help spread some breadcrumbs.

Happy readings! And please don't forget to poor yourself that warm cup of tea now. Cheers. Natacha & Kim

PS - A local whatsapp group *'sharing is caring' - initiated by Natacha - is a wonderful example of the ease and fun of sharing about local activities.

Invitation

"This morning, the cold has started spreading it wings on the land where i live. Its visit wake up in joy a part of me which has been asleep for the full summer.

While the cold is contracting the members of my body during my usual morning walk with my daughter and dog, I noticed an intense joy in this going-inward motion, it feels like a squeeze towards my essence.

Summer has been an invitation for the going-outward motion, I have been uncovering my body to become one with the sun, the fresh water of rivers and lakes, the touch of the warm air, sending as much time outside as possible, gathering it all within myself like the trees around me. And now the cold visiting me is a delighful welcomed invitation to reverse the motions, loosing my leaves as the trees to concentrate in my core being, my trunk.

The cold whispered to me: " it is now time to go inside, inward, to the essence, to get the juices of all the outwards moments of the summer. It is all in you."

While walking I feel the joy to come back inside of our house, to drink slowly a cinnamon orange latte infusion, to have the warmth of a fire or a blanket and to write.

While I am heading back home, I smile, happy to have the chance to experience the seasons, which remembers me my inner circular calendar."

Watering

We love the work of Eva van Strien; bridging design, ecology, Indigenous knowledge and technology. Her current project called Harmonising Hydroglyphs will be showcased at DDW, so we can all experience the beauty and intelligence of this natural phenomenon! Expo dates & time.

Autumn in Eindhoven

Often I have been asked for my personal preferences throughout Dutch Design Week. There's some logic to that; crazy many options to choose from + I've been part of the DDF team back in the days and knew the program by head.. sort of + I'm a local + I love experience design.

So, let's give it a go again! Enjoy bits of the collection below for cosy, enchanting autumn moments throughout DDW / 19 - 27 Oct in Eindhoven.

Pssst: take in the outdoors while you're at it.. jump on your bike and feel the wind.. or have a little dance in that puddle of water! There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing ;)

Connecting the dots

CREATIVE FRIEND. Please have a look at these dreamy photographs by our friend Gretel. And there's more to her creativity, like this, this.. and this!

COMMUNITY. While still reading his manifesto, we already want to share about the Miracle Project of Raymundo, who's in the business of co-creating a New Earth.

SLOWING DOWN. You've probably heard this phrase already; Please let ChatGPT take over the laundry instead of our creativity. I actually like it can not take over the slow, repetitive proces of my household <3 - Kim

MEMORY LANE. Once upon a time in 2015, there was Circus of Life during DDW at Garden Mania. And a circus we (+80 creatives we won't allll link) got ;)

SURPRISE IN PUBLIC SPACE. Keep an eye open for these Wandering & Wondering little white flags on the streets (+ expo's) of Eindhoven.

MUSIC. A playlist called Calming The Air has been on repeat since autumn arrived. It's put together by The G(u)ardeners on who'm we will share more in issues to come.

CONNECTING THE DOTS. We like to energise the human mycelium.. weaving itself into a rhizome again.. like a basket of willow branches.. like fungi! To be continued :)

YELLOWING. Big love for some soft and soothing autumn writings by Matt. An extract: At some point along the way, we may discover that the inner process of restructuring and falling apart isn’t the expression of some cosmic error or mistake, but of a certain kind of grace.

It’s not easy to embrace this, to see the dissolution, putrefaction, and the alchemical yellowing as the activity of intelligence, of the infinite creativity of Spirit as it unfolds and incarnates itself through matter, body, mind, and soul.

CELTIC ROOTS. Last year a friend and I -Kim- visited the Irish Session Festival in Nuenen, where we drank dark beers and enjoyed ourselves singing along to old songs. It's almost that time of year again.. yeey!

Just s

And just so you know: You can not drink too much tea, it is not possible

Enjoyed, inspired, enthusiastic?
