COUNSELLING MINISTRY

There are certain times in our lives when we feel stuck or unable to cope. If you are going through a season of challenges and need emotional support, the Lay Counselling Ministry in the Bible Church would love to pray and journey with you through your struggles and difficulties.

Trained counsellors are available to help with pastoral care and short-term counselling for children, youth and adults, including TBC members, regular attendees and those seeking Christian counsel.

Coffee, snacks, and good conversation. Bring the love of Jesus to migrant workers at Kranji Recreation Centre through your friendship and hospitality. We welcome all with a heart for these brothers to join our kopi sessions –

#2 Gladiolus Place

Together with the Ladies Ministry, join us for monthly baking or craft sessions at Gladiolus Place – a non-profit Christian residential refuge for at-risk teenage girls. We welcome all females (young and young at heart) to be part of the restoration journey in these girls’ lives –

ADOPT-A-FAMILY

An Initiative of the Good Neighbours

In partnership with Rotary Family Service Centre (FSC), we have “adopted” a total of 26 low-income families in West Coast since December 2021. Through monthly visitations, volunteers have been able to forge relationships and extend care to these families beyond providing grocery vouchers. God-willing, we hope to continue expanding our reach to even more families in the next 6 months.

For CGs, families, or friends looking to do outreach together, this is a wonderful platform for you to begin!

NO ENGLISH 1ST SERVICE ON SUNDAY, 18 JUNE 2023 AT 8.30AM AND KFC ON 17 & 18 JUNE 2023

In view of the Church Camp from 16 to 19 June 2023 (Friday to Monday), there will be no English 1st Service on Sunday, 18 June at 8.30am and no KFC on 17 and 18 June. English Services on 17 June at 5pm and 18 June at 10.15am; and Chinese Service on 18 June at 8.45am will proceed as normal.

UPCOMING MISSIONS TRIP TO BATAM, INDONESIA

20-25 June 2023

There will be a mission trip to Batam, Indonesia from 20-25 June 2023. The main purpose of the trip is to conduct a children’s camp for the Go To School (GTS) children and other children from the local church. We currently sponsor 27 children for GTS program.

If you are interested to go for the mission trip, please contact Shien Siong at 9144-6534.

(There is a mission team going to Prey Veng, Cambodia from 1-9 June. They will be conducting English Camps in the villages. If you are interested to know more about this trip, please contact our missionary, Lian See at 8590-3647.)

To derive the maximum benefit from the mission trips, there are certain guidelines for mission trippers. One of them is to attend the pre-mission trip orientation cum training session. If you are interested to go for the mission trip but have not attended the pre-mission trip training this year, please indicate your interest in attending the pre-trip training and we will arrange for the training as soon as possible.

CHURCH CAMP MATTERS

#1 Church Camp Briefing

There will be a church camp briefing at the following dates and location:

• Saturday 3 June 2023, after service at the Peace Sanctuary (L3)

• Sunday 4 June 2023 9.50am, after first service, at the Well (L2)

• Sunday 4 June 2023, after second service at the Peace Sanctuary (L3)

Please save the date and attend any of the 3 sessions at your convenience. You should also have had received an email with regards to the church camp briefing. Please kindly contact camp@biblechurch.sg if you have yet to receive the email.

#2 Google Form

We would appreciate if you could help complete this google form by 1 June 2023 to let us know if:

1. You will only be attending part of the church camp.
    

2. You are interested in joining the durian party on 16 June, Friday 4:00PM-5:30PM, so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
    

3. You would like to register for transport from the hotel to AEON Mall on 18 June, Sunday 12:30PM-6:00PM, during the free and easy programme.

UPCOMING EVENTS

CRUX REASONABLE FAITH SERIES

The topics in this year's reasonable faith series seeks to explore the philosophical and theological perspective of the nature of God, and His relationship to the human experience. Each topic tackles a challenging question about God, such as why a good God would allow suffering, how we can know God, and why God isn't more obvious to us. So, if you ever had such questions or if you have friends wondering about the nature of God, do invite them and join us for this 3-week series starting on 28 May!

YOUNG ADULTS FELLOWSHIP (YAF) RETREAT

After 4 years, YAF Retreat 2023 is heading overseas again! The retreat will take place from Friday, 14 Jul 2023 to Sunday, 16 Jul 2023 at Fraser Place Puteri Harbour, Johor.

This year, our hope is for young adults to re-connect with the heart of God and his desire for us to relate rightly and genuinely with him, ourselves, and the communities around us. Topics explored during the sessions include "how do I move from knowing about God to knowing God?", "how do I love myself?", "how do I genuinely forgive those who have hurt me?", and "what part can I play in God's kingdom purposes?" Retreatants can also look forward to intimate small-group discussions, as well as fun and bonding with the young adults community!

Our speaker is Mr Julian Chin, who was a district judge before he left the courts for his theological studies at Regent College in Vancouver, Canada. Thereafter, he served as the youth and young adults pastor in his church for 5 years, before rejoining the courts as a district judge. He is married to Wo Bin, and they have 2 daughters, Ashley (22) and Lauren (18). Julian and Wo Bin have been attending The Bible Church.
