Re:Fund Callout for Expressions of Interest for Small Grants |
The Lush Regeneration Fund aims to support ecological and social regeneration around the world, and they do this through offering small grants in aid of the boundary-pushing work of organisations at different stages of their regenerative journey. The Re:Fund supports projects working on a number of activities: protecting habitats in partnership with land defenders, regenerating land through meaningful livelihoods, or rewilding ecosystems while strengthening community. The money is raised through the sale of carrier bags in Lush shops, and goes into small grants of £500 to £5,000. If you are considering applying, get in touch with the Re:Fund team at re_fund@lush.co.uk before Friday 22nd October. |

Free Online Event: Protecting Rainforests |
Through carbon storage, transportation of water and the huge biodiversity held within, the Amazon rainforest plays a crucial role in absorbing the greenhouse gas emissions that we desperately need to reduce. But how is that role affected by continuing degradation of the rainforest, and how long can the Amazon continue to act as one of Earth’s great protectors? In this discussion brought to us by the UK Science Museum, we will explore how deforestation, wildfires and the subsequent loss of biodiversity are shrinking the size of Brazilian rainforests and inhibiting their ability to keep acting as a carbon sink, and explore some of the solutions to preserving the forests, through reforestation, rewilding and indigenous stewardship. Thursday 28th October. |
