Summer 2019 Newsletter

We always count it a privilege to share with you about our ministry here in the Southeast part of Romania. During the end of spring/beginning of summer season, we have many new and exciting things to tell! Nevertheless, I could not possibly put into words all the wonderful things that took place since the last newsletter!

Until recently, we were having our outreaches at the community park.  However, just a few weeks ago, while our team from Monroeville and our staff were setting up for the event, the Orthodox priest showed up and made a huge blowup, calling the police who took one of our workers in for questioning.

The mayor of the town had given us permission to meet there every Thursday during the summer for the last few years. But because the event took place after hours and the mayor was not in, he took advantage of the situation trying to scare us and disrupt the event! This was in fact a special program for children related to the Children International Day on June first.

The town's people and children were very upset with their priest and bravely stood up to him and no one left - over one hundred people - until we were finished, which to us was a great encouragement!

You can just imagine how happy we are now to have our own property and not have the concern of being disturbed again! The property has an older house, which, after being renovated, will be used for small meetings until we have the new building completed.

Healing Beyond Survival

At the end of May we hosted a Women’s Conference headed by Sue Willis, called Healing Beyond Survival. During the first two days we had a training seminar taught by Sue and her team, called “A Time to Heal Beyond Survival” based on the training manual written by Sue and translated into Romanian! There were 22 ladies, pastors wives and women’s ministry leaders and they all received a certificate and a manual in the Romanian language.

Following the training seminar we welcomed more than eighty ladies  who needed healing and restoration as a result of various types of trauma.

The Holy Spirit was invited as well and He surprised us with the most beautiful presence manifested by an outpouring of love, hope and healing! We all realized that this could not remain as a one time occurrence, so we are beginning to make plans for next year already!

International Children’s Day

June first has always been celebrated as International Children’s Day! With the help of a team from Monroeville, we hosted around 150 children from all around our neighboring towns on our campus! Through Bible lesson, crafts and games, each child learned about the love of God for them and were assured that we will always be here for them to help them with school, offer them a safe place to play or just offer them our care.

Reaching

Though the needs in our region are many, as the Lord leads, we are taking individual cases to help them in a more tangible way. This little girl, Andra, for example stole our hearts with her constant joy and contagious smile! She is 5 years old, yet she has never walked having been born with bilateral clubfoot. Her mom has three other children and her father is abusive and alcoholic.

We were blessed to be able to ship a wheelchair to Romania that was donated by the House of Bread ministry in Newport. For about a year her mom did not have to carry the girl in her arms all the time. But we wanted to do more! We decided to take Andra to an orthopedic surgeon who was willing to have the child undergo a series of surgical and casting procedures, promising us that, by the end of the year she will be walking! We can’t wait to see her even bigger smile when she is able to walk and play with the rest of the children at our Community Center!

Thank you for your continued prayers as we continue to be your extended hands to the people who are desperate to know Jesus as their greatest Helper and Savior!

Please Pray

  • Adequate help with the construction work involving the new church plant.
  • The advance of our paperwork and approvals for the properties in Baneasa, Cuiugiuc and Ostrov so we can function fully in all the areas of ministry, such as medical, feeding programs, in addition to the ones we are actively involved in already.
  • Pray for cooperation and favor with the authorities, that they would not let themselves to be influenced by the electoral manipulations and threats of the religious system.
  • Please pray for the men in our region that they would rise up to their responsibility to nurture and provide and protect their family.
  • Pray for us and our team that we would be continually empowered and guided by the Holy Spirit in everything that the Lord has called us to do.

Is there anything you would want us to pray for? We love praying for you!

My your hearts be more and more flooded with the love and tender care of the Lord as you grow in knowledge and complete surrender to His plan and will for your life!

Yours,

Mike and Ana
