Making life more comfortable |
Who let the bugs out? Or actually, who let them in? With the full 13' entertainment window door combination wall, letting the outside in has been a game changer for RV life. However, admittedly, there are times when a few feisty bugs forces us to reluctantly close this wall to the outside. We had been on the search for a solution to make this 13' space free of bugs and to make it a standard in our builds. Our friends recommended we take a look at Poseiden Interiors. As with anything custom, supply chain issues presented a little challenge but now that we have installed the full sliding screen system, we absolutely love it. The screen is of high quality making it virtually seamless and aesthetically pleasing. It completely disappears when not in use and simply slides across the track, revealing a very fine honeycomb design, allowing air and light through while keeping those bugs out. It sure has made our lives much more comfortable. |

, Thank you for your interest in Custom Travel Homes, a new and unique RV category that provides Uncompromised life on the road™. A large part of life on the road is enjoying the outdoors and we certainly have had the opportunity to do so this past month. You can read more about our travels towards the end of this newsletter, but first we will share some new Travel Home developments to make life more comfortable and less stressful. In addition, we will also update you on our TravelHomeNation™ Tour Fall destinations. |

Internet, or lack of, causing you stress |
We live on the road and we love to disconnect, dive into nature and participate in activities. But we also work and not having reliable internet connections to conduct video calls, follow-up on emails, etc. can be stressful. Cell based systems, the occasional local wifi connection, and even a local coffee shop hot spot have been part of the solution. When Starlink came out, it started to change the game and we finally got ours earlier this summer. You still may need a cell based system, we got the T-Mobile home internet router as a backup, when your parking spot is not in clear sight of the sky above due to trees, buildings, etc. Overall, Starlink has been rock solid. However, as we often have to work while we travel to the next destination, making sure we have good connection when driving can still be an issue. Having to make an unscheduled stop for an hour or so to handle a call can be annoying and put a kink in your plans. Enter full mobility Starlink. Yes, you can now keep your Starlink connected while moving. Our challenge was to be able to use Starlink while we were in the truck getting to our next destination. |

Voila! In comes Star-mount, an incredible robust mount that fastens to our Standing Seam metal roof, requiring no holes to be drilled. We installed the mount on our Standing Seam metal roof, took an ethernet feed from the Starlink router, and used a quick connect fitting to the truck where we installed a wifi router. It works like a charm. |

We will now have high speed internet everywhere as we travel, whether we go over mountains passes in the rockies, across deserts, or out in middle of nowhere. Net net - less stress. |

TravelHomeNation™ - Where will we be next? |
We have some great plans for the Fall. We will be in Steamboat Springs, CO at the end of September, followed by a few days outside of Granby, CO. We then head to Denver where we will tentatively have an Open House helping one of our partners. We will post it on our site. The main event in October (9 -15) is the HDT National Rally in Kansas where we will also be presenting. If you are considering or have an HDT, this is a great event to learn all about Heavy Duty Trucks (HDT) from actual users. There will be lots of 5th wheels there as well, which gives you an opportunity to compare and learn from others. From there we will head to Kansas City to relive one of the best football games of all time as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Buffalo Bills. We then head down to Austin TX to watch the F1 race. |

Million Pound Motorhomes - did you catch it? |

The show went live in the UK this evening and we captured it, edited it down (deleting lots of commercials) to just the segment featuring Custom Travel Homes. |

Montana, Idaho, Wyoming - dry camp haven |
Simply stunning. We started off at Glacier National Park which has some amazing hikes with lakes, waterfalls, glaciers, and wildlife. We had heard from others what a breathtaking place it is and it certainly did not disappoint. |

Throughout our travels, we found many great state campgrounds and National forest lands to park. The freedom that comes with being able to stay off grid for days, really opens up the number of potential places to stay. Some of these were truly remote, tens of miles from civilization. What surprised us was how close some of them were to some great towns. Our favorite was Sun Valley, Idaho where we stayed in the national forest, yet could simply take our bikes and within 20 minutes we were downtown. |
