The Red Hookers Fishing Club Inc was established in 1979 by like minded members of the Redbank Plains Community, to promote an avenue for Friendship and Family enjoyment within the sport of fishing.

Welcome back to www.rhfc.com.au and  our  online Newsletter.

Our look is ever changing, but our charter remains the same!

It is the desire of our members to enjoy fishing first and foremost, we do have friendly competitions whilst on club trips, unlike other clubs where competition is their most important issue. Here FUN is our first priority. Our charter is to promote recreational fishing, while combining all kinds of fishing into outings for our members to enjoy. We achieve this while keeping individuals costs down, by fund raising with Meat raffles at the Redbank Plains Tavern on Friday afternoons and the occassional sausage sizzle.

Welcome to Paul's first news letter.

Firstly thanks for all your support in my new club role as president.

It is my first time taking on such a important position in a club and I'm very happy to have the support of all members.

The plan for me is to  get as many club members and their family's out and about on fishing trips and club trips.

It is always easy to arrange trips and events if we can get a lot of suggestions and feedback from our members.

So please get involved as much as possible.

Up Coming Events

Melbourne Cup

As always the pub would like RHFC to do the sweeps at the pub this year .

We also have the pamper packs to raffle .

So we are calling on help.

If your free on Tuesday from 11am to 2pm  we would love to see you at the pub.

This is a club event ,so it will sign off the raffles quota.

Christmas Party

After a great year of fishing and camping and a bit of 4X4 ing .

Its time to celebrate the Xmas season.

We are looking for suggestions as to what everyone would like to do.

So far we have  BBQ and drinks and games at Davids place .

I would like to suggest a Friday and Saturday camping at Lake Moogerah.

'Lady on the Lake' has a house that will sleep 2 couples.

And a big open space for caravans and camping .

no need to bring all the camping gear.

There are toilets and showers, and a covered place to just sit back and chill.

The camp kitchen has a BBQ stove and 2 fridges.

The date would be 6th Dec - 7th Dec .

It would be GR8 to see as many faces there as possible.

Follow the link to check it out.

A few members attended the Wivenhoe fishing comp,it was a good event.

And a few nice fish were landed.

The weather was picture perfect and the company top class.

Thanks to all that attended.

Fraser Island Camping & Fishing

WOW what a amazing trip.

It was 12 months in the planning but well worth it .

Thanks to our trip organizer Graham Nilsen for all his planning. Also a call out to David for dragging the trailer full of camping gear on the trip.

Club members came from far and near and i thank them.

A good time was had by all and a few fish were caught.

There was plenty of laughter and some fishing stories told around the camp site.

we did get a chance to explore the amazing island of Fraser.

We will be looking at doing this as a yearly trip.

Jacaranda Festival.

This year festival was a great event with good numbers over the weekend.

The weather was nice and the jacaranda trees were in full bloom.

We had members manning the bar on 4 hour rotating shifts and everyone had a good time .

Big thanks to everyone for their time over the 3 days.

Raffles have been difficult of late, so please, if you can make it on a Friday afternoon from 5pm to the Redbank Plains Tavern, then please turn up and support your club.
