Keeping Up with ICB

3rd ICB Cohort (August 2021 - January 2022) Completed

We thank our 3rd cohort members - The Hong Kong General Chamber of Social Enterprises (GCSE), CUHK’s Alumni Charity Foundation (ACF) and Social Enterprise Startup Scheme (SESS) under I‧CARE Centre for Whole-person Development (I‧CARE) for their participation in our ICB program. In this cohort, we have conducted 26 sessions not only with our intermediary members, but also with the social purpose organizations (SPOs)/social projects that they support.

In these workshops, it was a pleasure to see that despite participants are in very different fields of work, we have come together to improve our understanding and work on impact measurement and management

4th ICB Cohort (February 2022 - July 2022) Wrapping Up

In this cohort we continue to put a focus on capacity building together with our impact intermediaries for their SPOs. Apart from engaging with Gravity Capital Partners, a new intermediary in this cohort, we also re-engaged with a number of impact intermediaries from previous cohorts such as Dream Impact, Good Seed, BEHub and Social Enterprise Business Centre (SEBC) Through conducting 20+ sessions of capacity building workshops, we have interacted with more than 100 SPOs/social projects.

We have also conducted several one-on-one follow up sessions with SPOs/social projects who are eager to advance their work on IMM. Through this opportunity, we were able to get to know in depth the SPOs/social projects and worked with them on more closely along their impact journey, advancing their Theory of Change, choosing suitable impact frameworks, setting metrics and measurement tools, and preparing for impact digital transformation etc.

We are glad that it was possible to conduct face to face workshops again in June. It was indeed much more engaging to be able to physically interact with participants during the workshops

Agile Technology

Development Milestones

We have continued to work with our technology partner – ixo in this cohort.  We have completed some significant advancements and reached some major development milestones such as:

1) Impact profiles on IDCC platform – As of June 2022, we have onboarded over 100 intermediaries and projects on IDCC platform. Some of which have advanced their impact profiles where they have a very clear impact story based on an established ToC for effective impact communication. Some have even developed data and collection tools where they can collect and verify their data to create evidence-based and accountable impact.

2) Metrics Library – Through workshops, we have identified a common pain point of SPOs where many find it difficult to have the right measurement tools to measure the outcomes of their intervention. For this reason, we are in the process of gathering useful metrics (both local and global), which will be digitized into measurement tools in the IDCC library where users can easily utilize for data collection. In the future, users of the IDCC platform can also create their own measurement tools in the IDCC library to crowdsource intelligence and data.

Past Events

Earth Day 2022

IDCC celebrated Earth Day 2022 on 22th April together with its technical partner, ixo as well as other three organizations (Chimple, Green Yoma, Ekonavi) in a workshop series spanned across 3 continents in India, South Africa, and South America. During the workshop, we have tested community currencies and decentralized impact management using the Opera mobile browser. Click to read more…

Participants from Hong Kong have indeed confirmed the usability of the newly-released Opera mobile crypto browser for the Internet of Impact and will continue to explore the potential applications in areas such as tokenized local currencies.

ixo Launchpad

In June, IDCC participated in the first cohort of Impact DAO marketplaces organized by ixo. IDCC, together with other three organizations (Ekonavi, Green Yoma, and Learning Mined) across the globe created our own Impact DAOs for diverse purposes including raising capital, implementing projects on the ground, employing impact oracles, verifying impact claims, issuing and exchanging digital impact assets. ixo Launchpad has already gone live on ixo Mainnet and voting has just begun for ixo stakeholders who can now offer their priority acceleration support by staking their IXO tokens into voting bonds.

Future Events

IDCC Mobile App Coming Soon

IDCC is now at the final stages of our mobile app development. By having the IDCC mobile app, users will be able to easily log into their account as well as submit claims with a few clicks and swipes, at any time and anywhere (as long as there is internet connection)! We are excited about the mobile app coming out and we will re-engage with our users through further workshops and demos. Stay tuned!
