MOIA partners for "Women in the Workplace," a week-long series of roundtables and marketplace |

The MOIA team participated in “Women in the Workplace,” a virtual roundtable and marketplace event in partnership with Invest Atlanta, WorkSource Atlanta, and the Mayor’s Office of One Atlanta. The campaign kicked off on September 13 with a full week of events highlighting citywide programs and resources specifically tailored for women. As part of "Women in the Workplace” and the Inform Women, Transform Lives campaign, MOIA Director Vanessa Ibarra led two roundtable sessions highlighting citywide programs and resources specific to empowering women and strengthening families. The sessions were titled “Inform Women Transform Lives Meets “Women in the Workplace” and “Empowering Mothers and Communities.” Click the button below to watch both webinars, which will remain on the Labz Live platform until March 2022. |

Artist Sarah Neuburger begins painting the Inform Women, Transform Lives Mural at Chastain Arts Center |

As part of the Inform Women, Transform Lives global campaign, the City of Atlanta and Carter Center have come together to support a mural by Sarah Neuburger at Chastain Arts Center that highlights women’s equal right to information and the power it provides. During Elevate Atlanta, the Carter Center and City of Atlanta hosted a community paint day where members of the community were able to help Sarah paint the mural. A special thank you to Carter Center's CEO Paige Alexander, and Director of the Rule of Law Program Laura Neuman, Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta's Executive Director Oliver Gorf, Sissy Weldon of the Office of One Atlanta, Robert Witherspoon of the Office of Cultural Affairs and all members of the community for joining us to paint the mural. Sarah Neuburger (she, her) is an Atlanta-based artist, freelance illustrator, muralist and designer who received an MFA in Studio Art from the School of Visual Arts. She has illustrated and authored a stationery collection with Chronicle Books and worked with lots of businesses big and small. Many companies she has worked with are based in Atlanta and have made our city a big ball of awesome–high fives to that! She currently lives on Muscogee (Creek) land in Atlanta with her wife. | | |
