Goodbye & Good Riddance 2020!! And, HELLO 2021!! I know most of us, if not everyone around the globe in just about every country probably felt this way the moment the clock struck midnight on January 1st. I mean we've ALL been dealing with some serious stuff this past year from the global pandemic, the constant wearing of masks, social distancing, unemployment, civil unrest, racism, bigotry, hate, and on top of all of that...a never ending hunt for toilet paper!!! I mean seriously, who would've ever thought the year of 2020 Vision or ANY year for that matter would ever go down as the year that grocery and food stores couldn't keep a consistent stock of toilet paper on the shelves?!? Screw 2020 Vision, last year was indeed the year of the Twilight Zone!! But thankfully we've made it through. However, I do want to acknowledge the many millions of lives that were lost last year due to the pandemic and/or due to other reasons. Like so many of you, I grieved many losses last year and both my thoughts and heart remains with those that are still dealing with grief in this New Year. |

As many of you know, I use my newsletters as a way to go beyond the world of interiors and home decor. And, more of a way to connect with you all if possible on a deeper level by addressing things going on in our world and things that we may all be dealing with in some form or fashion. My newsletters also serve as an opportunity for me to highlight my hometown and most favorite city in the world, New Orleans...showcasing a mixture of beautiful city exteriors and cultural landmarks. But most importantly, my newsletters are meant to be a source of light and hope. In these current times... I think it's very needed right now for all of us. |

Ever since I was a little girl, one of my absolute favorite hobbies or past times has always been the art of daydreaming, fantasizing or just allowing my imagination to run wild and free. I'd get lost into the things I'd dream up and fantasize about. My Husband often tells me, he's never met anyone with such a vast and vivid imagination quite like mine's. I guess one could blame it on the fact that I'm a Sagittarius. Which means what exactly one might ask? Well of course, I'm so happy you did. Jupiter is the planet that represents the astrological sign of Sagittarius. Jupiter is also well known for being the largest and most expansive planet. So it's very commonplace for individuals born under the Sagittarius sign to have very broad imaginations in accordance to what our ruling planet represents. Everything BIG!! Go Big or Go Home!!! To date, or even as an adult...I still LOVE LOVE LOVE to dream and imagine. I can't even fathom daily life without being able to dream up amazing things. When I five years old my Father told me if I could dream it, I could achieve it. I've been holding onto those words ever since...working to manifest my dreams into solid reality. Many of my dreams have indeed manifested into real life, while some are still pending. Or, simply dreams that are works in progress. I can't say what everyone else focused on last year during what clearly was uncertain times for us all. But for me personally, daydreaming aided me in such a great way. It not only helped to past time during the months my job shut down...but it also gave me hope for better days to come. I really deeply believe in the power of the mind and the power of thought. I believe the things we allow to live in our heads, we ultimately give life to. |
So be mindful about what takes residence in your head and what you give life to. |
Just from the power of your thoughts alone. |
As well as the very things we speak into existence. 😉 |

With that being the case, or amidst all of the grief and misfortunes of 2020...I had to personally find time and space to imagine life and our world just BETTER! But in truth, I have to say that even with all of the craziness and insanity that came along with 2020, there were also many blessings and lots of achievements as well. My Husband and I accomplished a great deal last year and for that I'm truly thankful. And, I know we're not the only ones that were able to count our blessings last year and still continue to count them in this New Year. While I have no idea what exactly 2021 will bring, I'm very hopeful that better days are ahead of us. That alone gives me a reason to continue dreaming and a reason to SMILE. |

While I don't hate on anyone for whatever political party they affiliate with, I know I for one am so happy the current administration (notice I didn't say the name because I refuse to type that name on any content of mine) will at last be exiting the White House come January 20th. For so many of us that day can't come fast enough. I'm so happy and excited to FINALLY turn the page and welcome the Biden-Harris administration to usher us all into a new day. Yet, even with my excitement...I'm not gullible enough to believe the Biden-Harris administration or any one person in government has all of the answers. What frustrates me so very much is how people put so much faith and unrealistic expectations into man. Allow me to elaborate on that a bit further... But first let's get some more dope shots in shall we? C'mon, we all know many of ya'll are here for the visuals alone... So allow me to oblige you. |

In America, we have a democratic government right? We have the freedom and right to vote for candidates who become our elected officials. Yet, the minute any of these elected officials do the first thing we don't agree with, we're so ready to discard them. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not at all saying if an elected official does anything to put either our democracy or the lives of American people at risk, they shouldn't suffer the harsh consequences. Because they absolutely should. I mean, we're literally all watching in real time as the most recent events in government, including the storm on the Capitol of the United States played out on live television and streaming platforms right before our very eyes. However, what I am saying is that I really do feel like so many people put far too much faith in man than they do in God. It becomes and feels very cult like when we as people put more reverence into man than we do to our higher power. Because at the end of the day, elected officials are just that...men and women working to do their jobs to the very best of their ability. At least we hope that's the case. But what they are NOT are miracle workers or God himself. Like us, they are flawed and imperfect beings navigating their way through life and through some of the most challenging times. Yet, flawed as they may be...It still amazes or baffles me sometimes when I read some of the horrible comments I see on social media about various politicians. Or, just ugly comments about people in general. Especially the harsh comments I read about some of the good politicians that really are fighting the good fight in the very best way they can with the resources and tools they have. And, to the extent of power or control they hold within their jurisdiction. When I see nasty comments, I often think to myself that it's so easy to judge when one hasn't walked a mile in the other person's shoe. |

I'm very big into history, as it was always one of my favorite subjects in school. I love to read, watch content and indulge myself into times of the past or just learn about the history of pretty much anything. One of my favorite time periods that I've studied is the Roman Republic. In the film Gladiator, starring Russell Crowe as the lead in the role of Maximus Decimus Meridius, there's a scene where one of the Roman Senators talks about the arduous task of pleasing the people and how it's basically impossible. Do one thing and they'll praise and love you for it. Yet, do another or the wrong thing, and they'll hate you for it. In that particular scene, Senator Gracchus says something that has stuck in my mind ever since I first saw that film in the early 2000s. ROME IS THE MOB! According to history...so much of our world, our government and our democracy has been heavily shaped and influenced by the structure of western civilization, or by the governmental structure of the Greeks and the Roman Republic. And, dare I say that even in modern times today...I feel like we the people (NOT ALL, BUT MANY) have essentially become the mob. We've become this cancel culture...So quick to judge, so quick hate, so quick to become angry, so quick to betray, so quick to no longer be loyal, and just so quick to discard people altogether without logical reasoning. Or, without any kind of empathy. I remember when Jay-Z first launched his music streaming platform Tidal, there were soooooooo many naysayers and ugly comments all over social media. So many hateful words and people really wishing for this man's downfall before his new venture could really get off the ground. In particular, I remember Jay-Z saying in an interview in response to all of his critics..."Tidal is still a very young company and in its infancy. Please give it a chance to develop and grow!" It's insane that an artist of his caliber would have to reason with the public asking for patience and understanding as his new venture (at the time) works out the kinks. You would think that mature minded people would understand this, that ALL things need time to grow and become great. Greatness most certainly doesn't come right out the gate. It takes time to be nurtured and developed. Does a fetus not take nine full months before it's ready to enter into this world? And, upon its birth, there are still crucial months (years even) of learning and developing. Even for us as adults...we NEVER stop learning and growing. For when we do, we cease to live and draw breath. Jay-Z is also the artist that rapped the below lyrics (in his hit song "Already Home"), which I find to be so profound and words I live by... EVERYBODY CAN TELL YOU HOW TO DO IT, THEY NEVER DID IT! And, here it was people telling him how to do what they've NEVER done!!! Which brings me back to the world of politics... |

My point is this...Whether you voted for the new incoming Biden-Harris administration or not, please be very slow to judge, yet quick to think rationally. Quick to have empathy, patience and understanding. This new administration is walking into unprecedented times and dealing with very specific and unique issues they've NEVER had to manage or handle before. They don't have all of the answers and I'm sure they won't get every single thing right. But I do believe they will try to the best of their God given abilities, skills and federal government experience to do what's right for the good of our people and for our democracy. LET'S NOT BE THE MOB!!! Let's NOT spew hate onto this incoming administration!!! Let's NOT tell them how to do what NONE of us have ever done!!! Instead let's dream and be hopeful for greater things to come. Let's imagine our lives getting back to normal. Let's work to manifest the very things we want and desire for our lives. I know, I for one will be continually dreaming about getting back to traveling abroad. If you all recall, in my Fall 2020 Newsletter, I mentioned my Husband and I were supposed to be traveling both to Paris, France and Italy this Summer. Due to the continued rising cases of the virus and travel bans still being in place...we've decided to push our 2021 trip to 2022. As hopeful as I worked to be that we'd be able to take our trip this Summer...the risk is just far too great and simply not worth our health. But in true Tachic day dreaming fashion...there is not a day that goes by I do not think of this future trip and all of the greatness to be experienced from it. |

As I bring this newsletter to a close, know that my future European travels are heavily on my mind. They make me smile and give me something great to look forward to. That's what I truly wish for you all. In this New Year, find something to dream about that brings you joy and peace of mind. Something that you can work to manifest. But most importantly, something you can look forward to experiencing and accomplishing. Outside of travel dreams, I have so very much I'm currently working on behind the scenes for my brand. Things that I can't yet talk about but in due time, as I work to manifest them...of course I will share. But what I can share is that it's some very exciting projects that I believe you all will love. At least I hope you will. If you're brand new to my blog or to my email list, you've probably missed out on some of my most recently released content.
