Letter From Our Madam Congratulations to the 2021 Board of Directors!! Madam DJ Ruscik Vice Madam Ginny Neff Secretary Tara Efrid Treasurer Terri Batdorf Chaplain Anita Jannotti Director Lucinda Good Director Joanne Correia Director Monica Kochel They’ll have some big shoes to fill! Personally, I’d like to thank you for your continued support and confidence in me. I think next year is truly going to be a 20-Wonderful year for the Matlacha Hookers! I hope that you all enjoyed a beautiful Thanksgiving Holiday. I’ve always considered Thanksgiving as the official start of the holiday season; so, let the festivities begin! On Saturday we put up our Christmas tree, and I’ll spend the next week or so hanging ornaments and decorating the house. This is my favorite holiday of the year. Christmas always seems to bring out warmth, compassion and generosity of the heart and soul. Much cooler weather will be arriving on the 30th, which should provide a refreshing spark for our spirits. |

Pine Island Food Pantry The food pantry is still collecting donations of Christmas meal fixings for approximately 100 families on this island. Most needed items include green beans and corn, cream soup, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy and sweet potatoes. Personal Care products, such as shampoo, toothpaste, razors and laundry detergent are also welcome as these items are always in high demand. Please bring your donations to an upcoming meeting. No need to mark or bag your donations in a particular way as the pantry volunteers will assemble the holiday bags for distribution. Or if not attending a Hooker meeting in person, donations can be dropped off at the following locations: Winn-Dixie, V.F.W., American Legion, Moose, Elks, Stonegate Bank, Matlacha Post Office or the Pine Island Food Pantry at OLMM church. Visit pineislandfoodpantry.org to learn more. |
