Alfa & C17 Tract

Updates

**Attention Community Members!**

There's a significant development plan underway for the C-17 and Alpha Tracks that has sparked quite a bit of debate and will continue to. Here's the breakdown:

**Location:** If you're driving towards Jimmy Deloach from Highlands Blvd, the left & right-hand side of Highlands @ JD

**Residential & Commercial:** (Left-Hand side) The idea of warehousing has been abandoned here. Instead, expect apartment buildings, restaurants, and stores. This change will likely increase traffic in the area.

**Warehousing:** On the right-hand side, the plan for warehousing still stands. There’s no plan to remove the 18-wheeler moratorium from Highlands Boulevard, except for about 500 feet from the light. There's no reason for the trucks to drive down Highlands towards the residential.

**Buffer Zone:** To shield the warehousing view, the plan includes a lot of trees & landscaping and some commercial properties as a buffer.

**Traffic Flow:**
- 18-wheelers leaving the warehouse will turn right down Jimmy Deloach. No need to access Highlands
- If they need to go left towards the port or interstate, they'll turn onto Highland Boulevard, which will be widened to have two left turn lanes.

**Meeting:** The full concept will be presented (tentatively) on August 13th, pending getting school approval to use the space.

**Get Involved:** If you want to have a voice in this development, make sure to attend the meeting. Your Highlands Neighborhood Association will keep you informed on the details.
