Welcome to the October, 2022 Newsletter

Kia Ora

Firstly, our hearts are saddened at the passing of a Repertory stalwart, Callum McKenzie. Our condolences to his family and friends. He was a skilled actor and a valuable member of the club for many years. It was a privilege to have his final show on stage just a couple of months ago. Farewell Callum.

There are so many working parts to producing show.  Expertise, enthusiasm, countless voluntary hours and commitment. This is happening at the Litt Park Theatre as we are creating our rendition of 'The Vicar of Dibley'. Behind the scenes there are industrious folk helping to make the Repertory Society function and grow.  Thank you to the many people who make this happen.

SIMPLY SHORT PLAY FESTIVAL 2023

Have you ever had a good idea and thought you might like to write a short story or play about it. Now is your opportunity!

Te Puke Rep was so disappointed that our SSPF 2020 was not able to performed due to Covid. Now we have planned another for 2023.

So, for all of those who submitted last time ... or those of you who thought about it but didn't quite get there ... or those who have never thought about it but ... now's a good time to start thinking about it and committing it to print.

Your play will be assessed by an independent panel and if your play is chosen it will be produced by Te Puke Rep in 2023. Up to 8 plays will be produced.

Plays need to be emailed to colleenpye@gmail.com

All plays received for the 2020 SSPF will automatically be submitted unless advised by the playwright.

  • Submissions received by 20 January 2023

  • Plays performed by Te Puke Repertory, possibly late March 2023
