CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

"When our eyes see our hands doing the work of our hearts, the circle of creation is completed inside us, the doors of our souls fly open and love steps forth to heal everything in sight."

- Michael Bridge

What is CranioSacral Therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is a holistic therapy that recognises and addresses the system’s mental, emotional and physical levels as an integrated whole.

When we experience stress or trauma, holding patterns are created in our bodies which when unresolved, eventually leads to an illness, physical discomfort or dysfunction.

CST is a gentle, yet potent way to process and resolve this trauma and a natural way of helping our bodies to rest and recover. It is unique in its ability to treat the source of the symptoms - mental, physical or emotional.

How does it work?

Consultation

I provide free Consultations, done via zoom in order to have in depth understanding of your enquiry, discuss any queries that you have and to find out how we might work best together.

How are the sessions booked?

I recommend a program of 6 weekly sessions. This way we can build up a therapeutic relationship and the sacred space to work together at a much deeper level to dive deep into the root cause of the issue.

During the session

By placing my hands lightly on your body, which could be anywhere between the sacrum, spine and head, while fully clothed and lying on the treatment couch facing up, I listen to your system's expressed rhythm, encouraging your body to relax, which directs me to areas of held restrictions caused by stress, injury, illness or birth trauma. Your body responds to this sensitive touch. A feeling that you have been heard is a common experience during and after a session.
Some of the words and phrases that people have used to describe their experience are "comforting, inner peace, a sense of relief, deep stillness and relaxation, connection, feeling accepted, grounded, feeling alive and whole again"

Aftercare

It is advisable to rest, drink plenty of water to allow the system to carry on processing the changes that occurred during the session.

There is occasionally a short period of adjustment as part of the healing process, where you become more aware of the symptoms.

After most sessions, I also provide exercises and/or homework to do at home to help your healing journey.

Long term process

Some people find they benefit from regular treatment over an extended period of time. As well as noticing improvement in their physical and emotional symptoms, they feel that they have more awareness of their own needs and strengths and their quality of life has improved.

You enter into the therapeutic space with an intention, allowing your system to unfold at its own pace.

Why not book yourself in when you are feeling good in order to build up your body's resilience instead of treating symptoms when unwell.

How long is the session?

Sessions are 1 hour that includes checking in, hands on time and checking out.
