to Participate in Chili Cook-off

This Saturday, Sept 18th, Noon-4pm

Come by Dunphy Park and visit our booth, have a taste of the best chili ever, and sign our Open Letter to City Council!

Below is another excerpt from the upcoming Marinship Documentary.

The purpose of the documentary is to highlight some of the businesses currently in our working waterfront that provide good jobs, maritime services and our artist culture.

James is a stone mason and an artist.  He found an indoor/outdoor studio in the Marinship several years ago.  An he wants to stay.  But he makes noise.  And as Marinship gets gentrified that noise will not be tolerated.

James is safe because his landlord understands the culture that is Sausalito.  He appreciates the artists and welcomes them. Unlike other property owners in the Marinship, not content with the zoning designation that they knew when purchasing, they seek to up-zone their property and their bank account.

But the list of uses that are displacing industrial, maritime and artists is growing.  We lost another fabricator last month.  More on that in the next newsletter.
