Love your pet - and wildlife. A study shows playing with your cat and feeding grain-free food can reduce its drive to hunt garden birds and mice. Make your garden safe for pets and wildlife by covering ponds, feeding birds out of pets' reach and sizing fence gaps for hedgehogs, not dogs. Other measures include keeping pets in at night and using humane cat deterrents.
