Happy October! Fall reminds me of gratitude, comfort, kindness, friendship, love, and fun. I love seasons and the contrast between them. Seasons allow for a reset and refresh, helping us work on changes and goal setting, two things that help us thrive. |

Mindfulness is the state of having your full attention on the present and being engaged during each moment without judgment. This includes being aware of your surroundings, bodily sensations, emotions, and thoughts. Put simply, it is being aware and attentive, not just living on autopilot. Research shows benefits of mindfulness include emotional regulation, better coping skills, improves sleep, and reduces stress, anxiety, & emotional reactivity. |
|
To start practicing mindfulness, you can do simple things each day like pausing to become aware of your breathing. You can also focus on your sensations and what your body is telling you whenever you're doing something, rather than listening to thoughts. Meditation can help enhance mindfulness as well. There are many ways to increase mindfulness. What helps you feel more centered and mindful? Mindful.org Positive Psychology |

Fall Foods and Tasty Treats |

When it comes to treats, I love anything pumpkin. Try this plant-based pumpkin mousse if you're sticking with natural sweeteners. If you want something more indulgent, you'll love these frosted pumpkin cookies. Not into pumpkin? These banana bars are delightful, or make some cute, easy thumbprint cookies. Try them with any type of jam. Be creative, try new things, and have fun. Happy baking! (If you're gluten-free like me, these all work great with Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1 Gluten Free Flour.) |
