The new Moranbah Youth and Community Centre was opened on Tuesday 27th August.  Minister for Communities Coralee O’Rourke officially opened the new centre alongside representatives from BMA and the Isaac Regional Council. Read more here:

We are looking for a new Secretary and Treasurer for the QFCA's state committee. This could be someone from your centre or management committee with time and skills to invest in these positions to benefit the QFCA and the wider Neighbourhood Centre network around Queensland. Get Online Qld is a Queensland Government initiative which recruits volunteer digital mentors to help community members access the social, educational and financial benefits of being online.  They're keen to see mentors placed in Neighbourhood and Community Centres. Neighbourhood Houses Victoria has just released a major report  with the Department of Health and Human Services. "Connecting a Diverse Victoria"  shows the great work Neighbourhood Houses do to unite communities.

Psychological tools developed with aboriginal people are being trialled with farmers affected by drought.  These are great community based methods that can be used by Neighbourhood and Community Centres in Western Queensland.  You can read more in this fascinating Mosaic article here:
