September, 2024

One for the record books! Our 38th Annual Bowers Bluegrass Festival was full of surprises and extremes! TWO National Headliners! As well as thunder, lightning, rain, hail and 50 mph winds! A few hundred feet up the slope behind us, snow was falling, too. IN AUGUST!!

Gotta love Nevada weather!

Oodles of gratitude to the over 40 volunteers that worked tirelessly to keep up with all the weather-related excitement, and to the hundreds of you that brought blankets and umbrellas and braved out the squalls!

The impromptu move to the pub in Washoe City when the storm really got going was a hoot! The SLO County Stumblers got everybody dancing!

(sorry about the blurry video)

We're already starting the planning for next year, and your input helps us immensely. It helps us know what you like, AND it really helps us with writing the grants we need to keep this event going
