Research Insights:

Menopause: Brain Fog

Brain fog which may include difficulty concentrating and remembering words is very common in perimenopause and menopause. Often women worry it is a sign of early dementia, but that is not necessarily true, and the symptoms will lessen with time. Estrogen is very important in the brain for memory and cognition and during perimenopause and menopause the brain has to learn how to function with different amounts of estrogen compared to premenopausal. Menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) has not been proven to directly treat brain fog; however, sleep disturbances, hot flashes, and mood changes can make brain fog worse and by treating those symptoms with MHT, brain fog may lessen.

Favorite Place: Verbena

Rachel's pick: Verbena is a dry bar for those having hot flashes when they consume alcohol but still love to socialize around a yummy drink. Cute ambiance and woman owned.

1434 W 29th St

Cleveland, OH  44113

"A few of our favorite things:" Via vaginal moisturizer

Jean 's pick: It is safe to say that with the loss of estrogen in menopause everything gets drier including the vulva and vagina. Using a moisturizer can be very helpful, either by itself or in addition to a vaginal prescription. Via by Solvwellness has safe ingredients that won't cause irritation including hyaluronic acid-which you may be already applying to your face, so you can trust it in your vagina too.
