Spring is just around the corner

Message From the Treasurer

Good afternoon everyone,

I wanted to bring everyone up to speed on what happened at the finance committee meeting today.

1) The finance committee voted 14 to 0 to accept the finance subcommittee recommendation on a $1200 assessment.

2) The finance committee voted 14 to 0 to accept the finance subcommittee proposed scenario #1. Included in this scenario is getting a $500k loan to help bring in an influx of cash, because the projects on the primary project list are front loaded. The 2 main projects on the list are the B & D pump stations, which we want to order parts for in April, because they have an 8 month lead time. Cost for that is 340k. The 2nd project on that list is repairing all the bad electrical issue in the campground that Michael Blue uncovered. That cost is around 300k. So prior to the first installment being do we already need 640k. So that's where the $500k loan comes in to help pay those 2 things.

The 2nd part of this scenario cashes in all of the NON index CDs in the capital fund, that will free up $200k and cost us a fee of $4300. So we will also have $200k of cash in capital to help offset cost of projects.

So what is the next step.

I will take the finance committees vote to the board for approval at the March board meeting. So as of right now there has been nothing for this assessment officially approved, but the finance committee approved the assessment to take it to the board for a vote.

[Two items are included in handout that may be of interest.]

The 1st one is the cash flow analysis . This shows balance in the operating and capital fund at the end of each month. Also shows what is part of the scenario(box in the top right under scenario committee 1.

[The second] is the primary project task list. This is the list of projects that will be completed with this assessment money [The projects included in assessment are marked with an "xxx" in the Immediate column.] Plus it will help to rebuild the capital account.

AGAIN THE BOARD STILL NEEDS TO APPROVE THIS ASSESSMENT SO NOTHING IS SET YET. BUT THIS IS THE RECOMMENDATION BEING SENT TO THE BOARD FOR APPROVAL.

THANK YOU

Justin Bosilovich

Treasurer

Committee Meeting Handout

Three items of interest were mentioned at the Finance Committee meeting on Saturday.

  • Work on the water plant and drilling the wells is on schedule. At this point, there is nothing to indicate the March 31st opening date will not be met.

  • The Board is continuing to work on alternatives to having an in-house Bingo license. Small Games of Skill is not affected by the Bingo license.

  • The pool should be heated this year.

The Board of Directors has posted a letter concerning Bingo. Click below to read the letter.

Bingo Update

Have you ever wanted to communicate directly with the Big Guy? No, I don't mean Santa, but rather the President of the Association. To email Dan Bowen, directly use the email address, president@srcahome.com. He would love to hear from you.

Camp Hours through March 31st.

A motion was passed at the Special Board Meeting on December 29, 2022, that "limits members' access to the park to winter office hours only, Tuesday through Saturday from 8AM to 4:30PM. The first offense will be a $200 fine and loss of access to the park during the water plant revitalization project. If a robo-call is made indicating flooding, an exception will be granted for members in B & D section to come in at any time to check on their possessions."

Note: Leaving your car at the gate and walking in still counts as a violation.

The motion by the Board is being strictly enforced.

Spring is not that far away, and the events calendar is taking shape. You definitely want to mark your calendar for the following:

April 15 - Trout Day

May 27 - Super Bingo

June 17 - Family Fun Day

July 22 - Christmas in July

A tentative Calendar of Events is available on the website. Visit the home page (www.srcahome.com) and scroll down to the Season Schedule button found after the calendar. The schedule is not complete, but it's not too soon to start planning your summer activities.

If you do this and see the 2022 schedule rather than the 2023 schedule, you need to clear your browser history.

The Association makes every effort to keep you informed. The office sends emails and voicemails periodically to announce time-sentive information. Email blasts, like this one, are generated to give you updates on what's going on, and there is also a Facebook page maintained as just another alternative to keep you in the loop. As a Members Only subscriber on the website, you have access to Association information including Board meeting minutes, financials and other items related to Association management. So if your neighbor is getting notices that you are not, then chances are the information we have on file is not accurate. If you'd like us to check your information, please submit your current information through the Contact Us page on the website with a note to confirm contact information. Be sure to include your lot number.
