Easter Time!

Designed by: Starline of Freepik

It is almost time for Easter! We just hope the weather gets a bit brighter soon.

We recently held a Family Meeting on Teams, which we have recorded. Thank you to everyone who was able to join the meeting for your contribution, we hope that it was useful for everyone. If you could not attend and you would like to see what was discussed, you can access the recording by clicking here.

We hope to hold our next family meeting in Mid-June, so we will be in touch to find out what dates and times are best for everyone before the end of May.

Congratulations to Milan!

Milan is a young man from the Bolton area who has been writing letters to a lot of our residents during the pandemic. He has been writing them consistently and many of our residents love to hear his letters being read out for them and really enjoy responding to him regularly.

Milan was recently recognised for his amazing work in the community, winning the Young Person of the Year award from Bolton News!

We are so happy for Milan and his family, he has brought happiness to our residents and staff and we are delighted that he has been recognised for his contributions to his community. We're sure that he has a bright future ahead of him.

Well done Milan!

Queen's Jubilee Party

We have been planning a Jubilee Party for Wednesday 1st June in the car park area at the front of the Home. We have provisionally booked the Apetito trailer that will supply a special Jubilee meal for our Residents, along with activities on the day.

Unfortunately we can only host a limited amount of guests, so we will only be able to allow a maximum of 1 guest per resident. We will be sharing further information about this party in the next few weeks, with information about how you can request to attend.

This event is also weather dependent (great for Sunny Manchester!), so if the weather is not suitable on the day, we may have to cancel the outdoor event.

However, we have our fingers crossed and hope that it all works as planned. We are already excited to for this party!

Advanced Care Plans

We have recently updated our website with a new section explaining the purpose of advanced care plans and how you can support your family members with planning their end of life care.

This conversation is never easy to have, but everyone should be comfortable and have their wishes met at the end of their life. Whether this is to be with loved ones, or have their favourite songs playing, everyone should have their end of life wishers met.

A majority of our residents unfortunately cannot express their wishes, so we need your help to make sure everything is prepared and ready, even if it is 10-20 years from now. It is vital that we get this right for each and every one of our residents. We only get one chance to get this right.

We will be trying to get as many advanced care plans completed as we can in the next few weeks in the run up to Dying Matters Awareness Week. If you would like to read more about Advance Care Plans, please click here and feel free to get in touch if you would like to contribute to your family member's plan.

Thank you once again for joining our mailing list. We look forward to seeing you all again soon, stay safe!
