Alumni Newsletter

Greetings from Oldenburg! On behalf the EMMIR Communications Team, I'd like to introduce one of our newest projects: reaching out to alumni and updating you all on some exciting things that we've been doing. Thus, welcome to our Second Official Alumni Newsletter, a bi-annual email update sent to our large network of alumni and students.

The purpose of the Alumni Newsletter is to send updates about our program and upcoming events, and to spread relevant information. If you haven't read our very first newsletter, please feel free to check it out here.

As most of our network has already heard, we did not receive Erasmus+ funding for the next phase of EMMIR. Currently, EMMIR is set to continue until the end of Cohort 9. We plan to re-apply for funding in 2020. If you have concerns with how this may affect you, or you want to be involved in the process of building a self-sustainable EMMIR, reach out to us at emmir@uol.de.

Our website now has a section for Alumni Stories, and thank you to Oleksander, Liss, Imke, Jaafar, Yordanos, Mahanam, and Oana for sharing yours!

Are you interested in being part of our 'Network' section on the website? All alumni are welcome to send in their stories: gabriella.mikiewicz@gmail.com.

This December, EMMIR & ACMS (Wits) held the "African Families" conference at the University of Oldenburg.
