I will be opening up my studio to the public during this year's (2019) East Bay Open Studios Event. Stop by my North Oakland Studio (11 miles from downtown San Francisco), enjoy a glass of sangria and see what I've been up to in the studio this past year. Plan the rest of your EBOS self guided tour online at EastBayOpenStudios.com. Full location details and artist listings will be available for your mobile access in a few weeks. Feel free to contact me to arrange an alternate date or time this Summer. I will be participating in the 1st weekend / Region 1 of the East Bay Open Studio event. Saturday June 8th + Sunday June 9th from 11 am - 6 pm. On view will be new Watercolor Work on Paper, Encaustic on Panel, and a selection of new-never-shown Lithographs, as well as a few highlights from older series. I'll be on-site to discuss my work and toast with you to the Summer ahead! |

This exhibition allows for a concentrated focus as the members of the California Society of Printmakers were invited to submitted artworks for juror, Leslie Jones, Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Her selection presents an overview, offering the opportunity to perceive linked reference, stylistic similarities, communal intent, and familiar subject. |

The gray of our raining spring promised incredible fog and sinister daylight - and it delivered. Following the hills that trace the bay and the coasts beyond offer up tracts of land to watch all that fallen mist. All of a sudden this cool air will turn dry and I'll have to wait a few seasons again. Of course now that i'm focused on some new small-scale encaustic work and large scale watercolors for open studios, all I want to do is drive through the forests and listen for the heavy hush that trees give off. They don't have the sounds or the scents, but at least I have thousands of photographs to remember this season by! *Warmest Wishes* Karen |
