July Pickleball Newsletter

Happy July!

Summer temps have arrived! I hope that you are all getting out there and enjoying the fabulous weather. Snow seems like a distant memory now...

We have some fun events coming up this summer: SOPA and I will be partnering together to hold low cost clinics for SOPA members, there will be an UP/DOWN challenge event at RVCC on Friday July 14th 6-9pm, Wes Gabrielsen is holding another clinic series in Sun River in August, two top female pro players in the Pacific Northwest (and fellow Oregonians), Tracie DeJager and Joy Leising, will be in town September 29-30th to hold their "Women Teaching Women" clinics, and the Rotary is having their annual tournament Sept 8-10th... Opportunities abound for learning and playing this summer!

My Website

First: Important Technical Business

Starting July 1st all of my Rogue Valley Country Club events and lesson signups will be on their organization's Court Reserve account. Simply log into your current court reserve account and click on "My Organizations" and then "Search" for "Rogue Valley Country Club" and click "ADD." You will need to toggle between my account and their account using the "My Organizations" tab to see everything. Basically, if it is at RVCC it will be on their calendar, if it is private lessons or clinics that I am NOT holding at RVCC it will be on my calendar. To help ease the transition I am listing my RVCC events for July on my regular "Shelly Cox Pickleball" calendar. If you happen to sign up for an event there I will manually transfer you over to the RVCC site. I am so grateful to Dustin Loomis who runs the RVCC Tennis/Pickleball Center for being willing to implement the Court Reserve system so that we can better accommodate pickleball at the club! He was also instrumental in getting pickleball lines painted on ALL of the tennis courts and on the basketball court outside. We have a total of 9 courts now at RVCC! Next time you see Dustin, please let him know how much we pickleballers appreciate him!

Drop it! ...and an assortment of other crazy ass things at my long suffering, wonderful, tolerant students!
