New Ukuleles Are Music to Their Ears!

On Friday, April 29th, Bree's Blessings had the privilege to provide 39 ukuleles to five local organizations! Norton Children's Hospital, Camp Quality Kentuckiana, Gilda's Club Kentuckiana, and Kentucky Cancer Alliance will now be able to provide new music therapy through the musical instruments donated. Brett Northrup, the music therapist at Norton Children's Hospital, said, "Thank you, Bree's Blessings, so much for the amazing support you give us and the incredible patients and families we serve. So awesome!" We look forward to seeing these music programs develop throughout the area and are excited to see new ukulele artists emerge!

Staff Spotlight: Laurie Bump

My name is Laurie Bump; I am 35 years old and live in Jeffersonville, Indiana. I have two children. Islyn, who is 12, and Jonah, who is 4. I have been married to my amazing husband for almost eight years. I am so excited to have this opportunity with Bree's Blessings!

My son Jonah was born with a rare disease that is fatal if left untreated. Jonah received chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant at Norton Children's Cancer Institute when he was seven months old. The diagnosis, treatment, and healing process have forever changed our family.

I love Bree's mission. I know how much listening and singing to music and drawing can release emotions and heal your soul in ways nothing else can. I take this position very seriously and will not allow myself to let you or Bree down. I know the importance of reaching out and helping these kids because my son is one of them. I cannot tell you how excited I am for this next chapter of my life. Thank you all so very much for this opportunity.
