Dues and Obligations

Membership Dues and Chapter Obligations for the 2021-2022 year are due by the end of the month and must be postmarked no later than December 31, 2021 to AHEPA Headquarters to avoid late fees.

MEMBERSHIP FEES:

New initiates - $30

Current members - $20

Reinstated members - $25

When collecting dues from your members, deposit all monies to your Chapter treasury and submit one check from your Chapter’s bank account that is signed by the Chapter President, Treasurer, and Advisor. Remember, you cannot mail a check from a personal bank account when submitting for the Chapter.

In the event that your Chapter does not have a bank account, each member can write a check from their own bank made out to the Maids of Athena Grand Lodge with the memo "Membership Dues 2021-2022." If you submit cash, you can go to a local bank and get a cashier’s check made out to the Maids of Athena Grand Lodge.

For our Canadian Sisters, remember you must go to the bank with your signing officers and get a money order in USD!

When submitting a membership dues check to our headquarters, remember to include the Membership Dues Remittance Form, as well as any application forms for new members. When submitting your Chapter's mandatory obligations, remember to also include the mandatory obligations form.

Please ensure that your Chapter fills in the remittance forms fully with the correct email addresses and spelling of names. Please avoid using school emails; instead, stick with your personal email addresses to help us improve communication on all of our platforms.

Members who are paid and in good standing are eligible to participate as delegates at the National Convention, apply for Maids of Athena scholarships, and more.

You can find Chapter Obligations and Membership Dues Remittance Forms on our website under Chapter Resources or by clicking the links below. If you have any questions about Membership Dues or Chapter Obligations, contact your Grand Lodge liaison or email Grand Treasurer Rigo at moagrandtreasurer@gmail.com. If you need an updated copy of your Chapter's roster to assist you with submitting dues, email Grand Secretary Peggy at moagrandsecretary@gmail.com or Grand Vice President Mary at moagrandvicepresident@gmail.com

New Year's Resolutions

We want to continue to see our chapters succeed in 2022! One of the main topics that we discussed at our Leadership Conference is keeping our chapters organized. Below we have a few suggestions to help manage your chapter.

Chapter Gmail Account: Create a Gmail account for your chapter. If your chapter has one already, make sure you as the President, the Corresponding Secretary, and Treasurer all have access to the account. This email will act as your chapter database where you can send out communications, store your minutes, treasury ledger and more. It also gives you access to many great features including google drive, google docs, and google sheets!

Social Media: Let your chapter shine! Over half of our chapters on have active Instagram accounts. Use our chapter Instagram directory and follow all of our chapters. Showcase what your chapter is up to help recruit new members and help boost your events and fundraisers!

Have both a Gmail & Instagram? That's great! Please make sure all the password and username information is written down and placed somewhere where the appropriate officers can locate it. We recommend you keep it in the treasury binder, so it can get passed down to the next chapter officers.

Organizational Tips

Upcoming Goals for 2022

Participate in our programs such as Growth & Expansion or MOA Book Club. Use these ideas to help generate enthusiasm in your chapter and encourage participation. They also make for great marketing and PR!

Thank you for being such amazing leaders! As a lodge we enjoy watching all your chapters thrive and participate in the fundamental principles of our Order. As always, we want our chapters to do whatever works best for them in order to succeed and stay strong, but most importantly, we want our chapters to be safe and stay healthy.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

In Pi Alpha,

Maids of Athena Grand Lodge
