Tar Water, or Pine Tar Water, is actually a medieval remedy one drank to rid himself or herself from powerful spirits or entities. Now, while it's not offered (as much) because of its disagreeable taste, those who practice the craft use tar water as a symbol in their practices to aid in banishing evil or negative entities in themselves or in their presence.

Because any type of entity can attach itself during ritual, and all of us are not without fallibility, it is ideal to have tar water in our witchcraft supply or on our altars. However, tar water is also used when breaking any hexes or sending any ill-will back whence it came.

Our spray includes quartz, agrimony, rue, mugwort, wormwood, vervain and resin from the sacred Pinon pine. This listing is for a 3.5 oz (4 oz total weight) of tar water spray. Please note that the use of charcoaled salt will cause a little black residue on the tube of the spray's spritzer. You will see the charcoal sitting on the plastic tube's lining. It is not decay of the oil but rather, a natural reaction from the charcoaled salt.

If desired, pair your Tar Water Spray with our 4 oz. spirit conjuring spray (hydrosol), Vinegar Tom, named after the the infamous imp of Elizabeth Clarke. In 1645, Clarke was accused of witchcraft and therefore subjected to a "watching," where officials would stand watch overnight to see if her imps, including one named Vinegar Tom, would emerge. Our hydrosol of the same name is used to summon spiritual support. Use both Vinegar Tom and Tar Water Spray in spirit communications and divinatory work.

As always, be careful when in contact with herbs. While we use a quality source for our herb collection, skin irritation from a particular plant is always a possibility.
