EAASI Summit

EAASI at UN-GGIM

Marcos Martínez, EAASI Secretary General, represented our organization at the Fourteenth Session of the UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) in New York from August 7-9.

 

This event highlights EAASI's commitment to global geospatial collaboration and sustainable development. As a member of the UN-GGIM Private Sector Network since 2022, EAASI contributes its aerial imagery expertise to strengthen global geospatial infrastructure. The session provided insights into various activities and initiatives across the global private sector network.

 

Martínez also participated in a side event on "National Mapping: Transitioning towards Geospatial Knowledge Infrastructure," organized by Geospatial World. This mini-conference brought together experts from over 40 countries to discuss the evolving role of mapping agencies in national advancements. EAASI's active involvement in these global forums reinforces our dedication to advancing the aerial surveying industry internationally.

We're delighted to announce that CATALYST, a PCI Geomatics brand, has joined EAASI as an Observer. CATALYST specializes in providing scalable business solutions powered by Earth Observation data and analytics. Outstanding Thesis Award

 

The deadline for EAASI's Outstanding Thesis Award, "Spatial Business Bridge," is fast approaching on August 31st. This award recognizes post-graduate students who effectively bridge technical geospatial applications with business elements, particularly in crewed airborne data acquisition.

 

Open to Master's, Doctorate, and Post-Doc students who submitted theses in 2022, 2023, or 2024 at European universities, this award incentivizes exploration of the Geospatial and Business intersection.
