From Farms Like Ours

Getting Equipment Ready for Planting

We plant, grow and harvest crops for our livestock right on our family farm, so we are looking forward to warmer months to get started planting!

Equipment breaking down during planting and harvesting is inevitable, but with good and continuous maintenance, breakdowns are less likely to occur. We are currently servicing tractors and the planter in the farm's shop.

Servicing tractors and the planter include (but are far from limited to):

  • Checking for cracks, wear and leaks in equipment parts

  • Ensuring tires are the correct inflation and are not too worn

  • Checking fluid and lubrication levels

  • Ensuring filters are in good repair and functioning correctly

You Ask. We Answer!

Is your meat organic?

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has very strict regulations for labelling products "organic". Interested in reading the full list? Click here! In short, to be certified organic, meat must be produced from livestock that (1) are raised on organic feed, (2) without growth hormones, (3) given adequate time outdoors and (4) provided appropriate care and treatment.

Our products meet 3 of the 4 above categories, meaning they are not considered organic and we will never mislabel them as such. They are raised without growth hormones, granted ample time outdoors, and provided with the utmost care and attention. However, they are not raised with organic feed.

Just like a human, livestock have specific nutritional needs. We ensure that livestock receive these essential nutrients through a carefully curated diet consisting of conventionally-grown (non-organic) grains and forages.

While our products are not considered organic, you can rest assured knowing every aspect of our production process is conducted with the utmost dedication to animal health and safety.
