REMINDER 
The Southlake Residential Association annual meeting is set for Tuesday, April 25, 2023. The meeting will be in-person at 6:30 PM at Valleydale Church in the Theatre on the 3rd floor. Valleydale Church is located next door to Southlake at 2324 Valleydale Road.

By now you should have received the ballots for the election of new board members and approval of an amendment to our protective covenants. One ballot will be for the election of 2 new members of our Board of Directors. We are pleased that this year you will have multiple candidates to choose from. The ballot mailing will include brief biographical information about each candidate. Please choose wisely because our Board of Directors routinely makes important decisions on behalf of all our property owners.

The candidates for the three (3) open board of directors’ positions are:
Angela Brothers (Estates)
Connie Cary (Estates)
Donald Parker (Estates)
William Oyston (Cottages) (for a 2nd 3-year term)
Preston Fussell (Cove)

Also in the ballot package is a proposed amendment to our covenants to restrict leases by property owners to an initial term of 6 months or more and grant the Board of Directors the authority to impose reasonable fines for persistent violators of our covenants. The Board of Directors is recommending that Southlake property owner vote YES to approve the amendment to maintain the single-family residential character of our great neighborhood. A YES vote is required by 55% of ALL Southlake owners to approve the amendment so everyone’s vote is important.

This year’s annual meeting will mark the end of my second 3-year term on the SRA Board of Directors so this will be my final newsletter. I want to take this time to let all of you know that it has truly been a pleasure to serve should a wonderful neighborhood and work with the great group of people who make up the Board of Directors. I look forward to seeing many of you on April 25.
