IWCA gathers in person for the first time, at Prowein

The Covid-19 pandemic had prevented us from holding in-person member gatherings—but we finally got the chance at Prowein in Düsseldorf this May, which 15 IWCA wineries (Members & Applicants) attended. At the Primum Familiae Vini booth, they met and toasted to IWCA. Many thanks to Miguel A. Torres, Rob Symington, and Charles Perrin for hosting the gathering!

IWCA Issues Official IWCA Certificate for Member Wineries, in Collaboration with LRQA

As part of our effort to establish comprehensive, standardized processes to calculate carbon footprints in the wine industry, IWCA launched an official certificate for member wineries and process for auditing and certifying GHG inventories. The IWCA certification scheme was developed in collaboration with LRQA (formerly known as Lloyd’s Register), one of the leading global audit firms with expertise in sustainability standards. Learn more about the certificate here.

IWCA at Michelin-starred restaurant Nectari (Barcelona)

We are thrilled that the Michelin star restaurant Nectari in Barcelona has decided to spotlight IWCA and IWCA’s Spanish wineries on its wine list after Barcelona Wine Week 2022, which featured a panel with IWCA wineries. We hope to see more restaurants and retailers similarly commit to supporting climate action in the wine sector!
