After months of development and beta testing, the Arts Council Napa Valley announced the full launch of their Creative Directory. The purpose of this directory is to create an inventory of creatives throughout Napa Valley, which can then be used by individuals, hotels, wineries and other business to find the right artist for their event or gig. Calls for Artists can be posted to this new website, or hirers can contact individual artists directly. Another feature of this new service is it is home to Napa County's only local Arts & Culture Calendar. This includes a listing of venues for Arts & Culture events as well as Arts & Culture Organizations. All artists in Napa Valley are encouraged to sign up. For more information, go to the website: www.creativedirectorynapavalley.com or click here to learn more. |

One down, two to go! During the Fourth of July festivities, we finished putting together the first of the three panels for our Community Mosaic Art Project! There is still more to do to get it framed, mounted and installed onto the Boys & Girls Clubhouse in American Canyon, but we'll be starting our second panel at our next workshop at the Boys & Girls Clubhouse, Saturday, July 20, from 10am to 4pm. Here's our updated list of workshops for the community to join us! We meet at the Boys & Girls Club Building in American Canyon (60 Benton Way) on the following dates: Saturday, July 20, 10am-4pm Saturday, August 17, 10am-4pm Saturday, September 14, 10am-4pm If you can't make these dates, contact us! We can offer "Tile Parties" for small groups up to 10-15 people. Send us an email at info@amcanart.org. For the latest updates, go to our website. We are still raising funds for the materials and supplies. We received major contributions from the Arts Council Napa Valley, City of American Canyon, and the AC Community Parks Foundation, not to mention the Arts Foundation itself! You can donate here. |

Kindness Rock Garden Now Open On June 15, a new Kindness Rock Garden was opened for all to use and enjoy! Actually, it's a small patch of land at the Elliott Park, located under the PG&E Power line at Elliott Drive. Built with helpers from the City's Summer Camp program, the Arts Foundation, the City and Daphne Wilker (who created the local "AmCan Rocks" Facebook Page) hosted the grand opening with opportunities to paint a rock or two--or to leave one! It was a fun afternoon, and there are rock painting socials being planned at the Senior Center at 2185 Elliott Drive. |
