For a limited time we are selling fresh, whole birds. If you're interested in trying locally raised chicken, please contact us via email.
Our meat birds are pastured birds, meaning they have access to forage freely outdoors and have access to pasture with all the insects, seeds, plants and worms a chicken could want. This is a natural diet for chickens.
We use organic practices which means we do not use antibiotics, hormones or commercially fertilize or spray with pesticides. We use a natural pasture rotation system with our animals and let mother nature do her work.
Recipe Ideas
Where you're in "back to school" mode or just busy enjoying the last days of summer, we're highlight quick and easy weeknight meals this week.
A weeknight pasta recipe for everything from tomatoes, green beans to zuchinni. Mangiano!
We have a medley of string beans coming on strong in the field ... from green, to yellow, purple and even a speckled variety called "Dragon's Tongue." These beans are super sweet and we eat them straight from the plant, but they are even more delicious in a quick weeknight stir fry.
Emiliano grabbing the last of our pumpkins. Because of all the hot weather this year you'll notice that pumpkins started appearing at Farmer's Markets earlier than usual this season. We're just about all out of our pumpkins already!
We're making room for some Fall plantings right now, like these beautiful purple bok chois. After planting in trays, we thin the baby bok chois and then transplant them in the field.
Can you believe how long it's been without rain? This year we've had to invest heavily in irrigation systems, like this overhead system. Normally we prefer in-line drip irrigation which is more sustainable, but the drip lines were not keeping our beds wet enough in the hot weather.
After using overhead irrigation in this new field of breakfast radishes, they sized up quickly and will be ready for market this weekend.
