All players and staff will be held to the following Code of Conduct and Safety practices

Code of Conduct
By participating in our game, you agree to abide by our Code of Conduct, which is as follows: Romancing Jan is a game that may deal with various mature concepts such as war, political conflict, injury, adult language, and various other taboo subjects. The game is intended for mature players, and out-of-game intolerance will not be permitted. We are dedicated to providing a safe environment in all of our experiences: Romancing Jan is a space where all people regardless of race, appearance, religion (creed), sex, gender expression, gender identity, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status are accepted and respected. Harassment is not tolerated.
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments — any comments deemed as disrespectful of and related to identity, expression, orientation, sex, disability, appearance, race, religion, nationality, marital or military status or otherwise — as well as deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, unsolicited photographs or recordings, sustained disruption of events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Players are expected to respect one another's boundaries and if asked to stop or tone down a behavior, they are expected to do so immediately.
We value the participation of every individual in our game, and want everyone to feel safe throughout the duration of the game. If you are being harassed, or notice that someone is participating in harassing behavior, please notify an organizer or the Game Master. If someone engages in behavior that violates this policy, the organizers will take any action they deem appropriate. These actions include: expulsion from the game, from all Incantrix future events and communities and if it is a matter of criminal behavior, reporting to the appropriate authorities. If a resolution to the problem cannot be reached between all parties, actions will be taken to remove the party in question from the community, communications, and/or disallow entry to future events run by Incantrix Productions LLC. In more serious cases, organizers can help facilitate communication with the appropriate authorities on a case-by-case basis.
Players’ privacy is of utmost importance to us. Any reports of harassment will be treated as anonymous and identifying information, including names, will not be included in any communication with the offending parties unless specifically requested. Names of all parties involved in cases of harassment complaints will remain confidential at all times.

Safety
Blocking players: If there is a member of the community that you do not wish to interact with, for any reason, you can simply email gm@romancingjan.com and let us know the name of the person. We will check our database to see if the person is playing and if they are, we will place them on a block list for you. This means that no mail sent from their character to yours will reach you and vice versa. If possible we will also assign you to different newsletter subscriptions, so you can have little to no contact with them.

While the game is played solely using mailing addresses of players, these addresses will not be disclosed to other players at any point during the gameplay. All mail will go through a central P.O. Box owned and maintained by Incantrix Productions LLC. Mail will be opened and reviewed by organizers in Incantrix Productions LLC employ and checked for any violations of our Code of Conduct or Safety practices before being forwarded to the player it is intended for. If any content is deemed inappropriate, the player will be contacted via email by a staff member of Romancing Jan outlining our concerns and we will attempt to work with the player to correct the issues. However, if the correspondence continues to violate our Code of Conduct, the player will be removed from the game and their subscription will be terminated with refunds only for any unused months remaining on the account.

At no point will a player’s physical address be shared with any other players or third parties. These addresses will be held in a secure database with access granted solely to Incantrix Productions LLC Staff responsible for mailing in-game correspondence.
