FIRST GREETING FROM THE INDIGO SHADE MAP

CONNECTING THE WORLD WITH BLUE SHADE

Hello Indigo Shade Map Family,

I can’t believe that it is already October!

It is an honorable moment for me that I’m sending this inaugural newsletter to you all! First, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your endless support and love even though we are living in an unexpected and difficult moment in this nation.

It has been busy and fruitful for the Indigo Shade Map and myself since last May.

New Vision of the Indigo Shade Map

An opportunity to be featured on Botanical Color’s Feedback Friday program allowed me to connect more with fellow indigo lovers and communities not only in the Baltimore region but also internationally through an online platform. The recorded session of Indigo Shade Map is available on Botanical Colors website. Please click the button below if you are interested in watching our program.

To move forward with the Indigo Shade Map’s vision, I developed a subscription plan via Patreon to produce a quarterly magazine. We are in the development phase and hope to complete the first issue by the beginning of winter. We will provide a lot of goodies and inside access for our subscribers! Stay tuned.

Online Workshops & Lecture

I’ve been digging into resist print techniques more and more. Some of you may know that I taught “soy flour paste resist printing” a couple of times during my Artist in Residency period at the Maryland Institute College of Art’s fiber department under their Natural Dye Initiative.

I was invited by the BMA (Baltimore Museum of Art) Lexington Market team to run an online workshop series called “Violet Hour”. The live streaming session was being conducted on September 9th and the recorded video is available on the Baltimore Museum of Art's Instagram page (Click Here!)

Today (October 10th) I did an artist talk about the Indigo Shade Map and soy flour resist pattern workshop via zoom. It was such a meaningful time and felt so grateful for the amazing group of fiber art lovers! Thank you Potomac Fiber Art Guild!

Soy Flour Kit Available via Indigo Shade Map!

We are offering a soy flour paste kit via our website during a limited-time.

All profits will be used for supporting our magazine production that includes researches, collaborations with BIPOC/Individual artists, language translation fees, materials, printing costs, and etc.  Thank you for your support!
