Nantwich Buddies

Summer Newsletter

Welcome to our Summer Newsletter which begins with some very exciting news about us being chosen as the beneficiary of a charity dinner in October. We're always grateful for funding and we've included a thank you to some of our supporters below.

We have a fabulous new Community Garden in Nantwich which is now 'open for business' and welcoming people through the gate for wellbeing and gardening sessions. Also new is a monthly support group for those experiencing anticipatory grief. Read more below.

Camera, lights, action...we've made our first short film about Nantwich Buddies that we will use in recruiting new volunteers, funders and generally to show people what we do. Please take a look if you haven't already, and help us to spread the word.

Happy reading!

It's a Fair Cop!

Every year the Cheshire Police Federation and Chief Constable's Charity Dinner raises money for charities within Cheshire.

At this year's dinner in October, Nantwich Buddies will be the sole beneficiary of the evening. This is an incredible opportunity for us to secure funding which will enable us to continue and extend our work in providing a helping hand to those in need.

To maximise our success, we are asking our local community and businesses for donations towards a silent auction on the night. If you can help or have any contacts who we might approach - please let us know!

Thank You for the Funding

Talking of money...we would like to thank Nantwich Town Council and the Nantwich Churchwarden's Merged Charity for the funding they have both provided this year. Without these donations we simply could not continue to run Nantwich Buddies.

The Nantwich Churchwarden's Merged Charity (NCMC) deed states its purpose to be "to use its income for the relief of persons resident in the administrative area of Nantwich Town Council who are in need, hardship or distress'. A perfect fit with Buddies.

New Group for Carers

Our friends at Insights Bereavement will be starting a new monthly Anticipatory Grief Group at Barony Lodge Residential Care Home later this month.

Anticipatory grief is most commonly experienced by those caring for a loved one who has been diagnosed with a condition such as dementia or a terminal disease. This group aims to support those who have been bereaved or who are experiencing anticipatory grief.

Insights offer a free and confidential service for people in and around Nantwich, find out more on the link below.

We hope the film will help us to recruit new volunteers, attract funders and generally spread the word about us.
