EHCC Blessing Bags

This past November EHCC celebrated Veteran's Day and World Kindness Day by putting together Blessing Bags for our local homeless veterans and families. Our alaka`i were honored to work alongside their younger siblings to talk about the importance of giving back and sharing a kind word to uplift someone in need. Afterward, our team dropped off these bags and spent a little time talking story with our local veterans.

If you would like to help support these efforts you can contact your local United Way or become a member today to raise money to continue to spread Aloha in the local DMV area.

Hoʻomaikaʻi ʻana 2021 RISE! Keiki Vibrancy Series Graduates!

Foolproof Rib Roast

Here’s a holiday favorite! So easy and so ono (delicious)!

Ingredients

  • 1 (5-lb.) standing beef rib roast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Directions

  1. Allow roast to stand at room temperature for at least one hour.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  3. Combine the salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a small cup. Place the roast on a rack in a roasting pan so that the fatty side is up and the rib side is on the bottom. Rub the seasoning onto the roast.
  4. Roast for one hour in the preheated oven. Turn the oven off and leave the roast inside. DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR. Leave it in the oven for three hours.
  5. 30 – 40 minutes before serving, turn the oven back on at 375 degrees F to reheat the roast. The internal temperature should be at least 145 degrees F.
  6. Remove from the oven and let rest for ten minutes before carving into servings. Enjoy!
