JUNE 2021 NEWSLETTER

"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord uplift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace."  - Numbers 6:24-26

A little tidbit about "The Rose"

The rose has always played a prominent role in the history of NCBWL, hence its presence in the league logo and in every momentous occasion in the past 70 years. It is also the official birth flower for the month of June. Little known fact is the NCBWL newsletter was called "The Rose" and also "The Rambling Rose" at one point!

The roses in the photo were the ones handed to the 2021-2023 board members at the recent installation.

We are asking members to donate gift cards from regional/national chains (minimum value of $25) for the silent auction benefiting the Aurelia Varallo Mariano Memorial Scholarship fund. This year’s goal is $40,000 and each gift card can help us get closer to that goal! Want to lend a helping hand to the event? Please email Patricia Vance at pbvance@gmail.com and she will add you to our volunteer list. Visit our website to LEARN MORE.

President's Message

Lynne Warne

WOW! Our May meeting at Coco’s was a confidence-builder for me as your new leader. The room was *packed and full of energy. I thought it was a fun evening that nourished my soul (the $5 glass of wine was an unexpected bonus!).

But what do YOU think about the meeting? If you attended, you received an email survey asking five short questions. It takes less than a minute to complete and is anonymous. We will email the same survey after every NCBWL event as a feedback mechanism so that we can continuously improve — because that’s what healthy, vibrant organizations do!
