So here we are, knock knock, in your monitor!

It seems many of us, after mastered the "technology" of social distancing through means of virtual meetings, virtual meals, or multi screened family gatherings, and social chats are experiencing some form of COVID virtual "technology" fatigue.

And if our email boxes weren't full before they are overflowing for many of us now. If you have opened this email at all, I THANK YOU!

I might be aging myself, but ever since we started our COVID "Zoom" meetings, my mind immediately does a 70's flashback to this zoom:

I don't know that I am alone in seeing the appeal of bopping up and down zooming around a room with airplane arms.  I find something rejuvenating about the idea as we continue to balance out these heavy emotional times.

In the best of times it can feel uncomfortable talking about such personal issues as one's finances. Having to social distance and do so deserves a pat on the back.   I applaud those of you that have taken on your financial health at a time we are so focused on our physical health and balancing a new lifestyle.

With this Pandemic, we hear of brain fog, anxiety, depression, loss of time, not knowing the day of the week, masks, distancing, the list goes on.  It seems we no sooner start to get used to a new norm, and it changes.  Thoughts of planning things out six months to a year seem to have shifted to a month or two.  As we near the school year and look at our current budgets, we might be asking ourselves, "Is the expense of a backpack fall into a "necessity" if our children are only walking to the dining room table to go to school?"

As the freezer starts to empty, do I restock in case we go into a stay at home again? How's that toilet paper?  Should we plan on getting those canning jars for all the tomatoes we grew this summer? How do I adjust my spending or credit card payments to meet my income challenges going into winter?

So many things have changed and are continually changing. In this month's newsletter, we touch on some of the latest "New Norm's" on the many topics we hear you asking us about. You will also notice in our "Coming Events" we are looking to bring Jodi back on September 24th.

Many of you might remember we unfortunately had to cancel our "Money Mindset Makeover" event back in March.  Due to the ever-changing safety protocols, you guessed it, the workshop will be virtual. This six week workshop will be accompanied by a weekly Live Chat on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.  Registration will start mid-August so look for announcements in the coming weeks on Facebook and our website.

On a final note, we want you let you know you are not alone.  We are here to help lighten the load. We are continually open Monday through Thursday.  We do take evening appointments when available, and I am always happy to answer any questions via email.  We offer intro sessions, and we are here for you; however long you need us. Via phone, email, or we can "Zoom" airplane arms or not.

Because it's never JUST about Money....

Are you really prepared for a money emergency? This is the financial

first-aid kit you need to stock.

By Michelle Fox

"The coronavirus pandemic has highlighted the need for emergency preparedness, including with your money.

Half of U.S. households lost income due to the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a recent Bankrate survey of over 3,700 Americans conducted in June. That’s why it’s critical to have an emergency financial aid kit, said Winne Sun, managing director of Sun Group Wealth Partners in Irvine, California.

“I recommend everybody have one,” she said. “And the good news is it’s actually not that difficult to put together.” "

Thinking Slow When Life's Changing Fast: Financial Planning in Times of Transition

By: Mike O'Donnell & Ryan O'Donnell

"When life changes fast, we are often required to make decisions that will impact our financial lives for years to come, as well as the financial lives of generations to follow. Yet, as human beings, we are emotionally affected by the instability of transitions in ways that undermine our decision-making capacity. And worst of all, we are often unaware that our judgment is impaired, “blind to our blindness,” as Nobel Prize-winning psychologist Daniel Kahneman puts it. This book draws on the latest research by Kahneman and others to help you shed light on your own decision-making processes and how to make smarter choices during just those times when it is most difficult to think clearly."
