Plover on the Move: Plover Rovers News |
Welcome to the August issue of our newsletter! Our in-person events are well under way and we have already had some wonderful experiences and great feedback - it's so lovely when all the hard work pays off! A massive THANK YOU to all our walker-talkers, partners and of course LEOs for their hard work and dedication! Three of our five Long-Distance-Walker-Bloggers have finished their walks: We have now walked from the Scottish border to the Dee Estuary (Will), from Poole to London (Kathryn) and from the Thames Estuary to the Wash (Katy). George and Tess are still out and about finishing up the SWCP and the North-East coast respectively. A lot of blog entries can already be found on our interactive map, more are coming up soon! Read about the highlights of Kathryn's walk in this issue! With two events centred around the arts coming up in the North-East this weekend, we take the opportunity to explore the connection between music and he ocean in this issue and take you on a lyrical journey beneath the waves. Lastly, you'll meet our volunteer Kevin Tamayo, who has been busy recruiting walker-talkers. As always, if you want to get involved with us, please feel free to get in touch! Have a lovely summer! |

Learn about our first ten in-person events from Kent to Somerset, from Dorset to Devon. We are super proud that all of the events went down as planned, without a hitch and that we reached well over 150 people with them! Check out the cool feature about the Plover Rovers in Bangor University's magazine "The Bridge" and have a look at our two science communication "how-to" webinars designed to support our walker-talkers (and anyone else who is interested) in their quest to deliver engaging science communication. |
