Family policies at the Negotiations Tables

Imelda Diouf, Director Pro Bono of the Sekwele Centre for Family Studies

If the health crisis is being managed, then the time of “can’t because of COVID” is no longer acceptable. There is no longer any excuse to not deal with the looting of the state during and before the pandemic. There is no longer any excuse for not implementing the National Development Plan 2030. There is no longer any excuse for accepting poor performance of politicians who have hidden behind a lockdown of threats and public officials who have had the excuse of “can’t because of COVID”. There is no excuse for the lack of implementation of the White Paper on Families (2013).
