Well, it is finally June which means I have officially separated from the military after 6 years in the Air Force. It is an exciting time for our family and Light of Mine Ranch. Like many directors of new non profits, we are not in a position to draw a salary, and that can make life very interesting. We hope that we will be able to within the next 6 month and hopefully sooner.
Although we are still praying expectantly for land, we decided it was important to start helping families now! Light of Mine Ranch is now directly involved in the lives of 6 other foster families and helping 17 children in foster care.
We have been able to help connect families with beds, clothing, and duffle bags
We are currently getting some local attractions involved in helping our foster families as well. The Black Hills has a huge tourism industry and lots of real cool family, friendly venues from Reptile Gardens to a drive through bear park.
Our Founders Club is growing and we have now reached 30 out of 100 members!!
Just this week I was honored to be featured in a local website The Faces of Rapid City, SD (Click the picture below for the full interview)
