"May is when everything starts to grow", this certainly applies to the art collection in the gallery as lots of new artworks have arrived with more pieces to follow. It's so exciting and inspiring! Now to find space for it all...

Back in January we hosted the fabulous McKillop siblings Logan, Mae, and Colton at "The Laundromat". It was a by-invitation-only, BYOB-and-chair affair that we kept pretty much under the radar. The exclusive, intimate atmosphere and great acoustics made it a special evening. The McKillops loved it, and so did we, so we'll do it again! Guess what? We have another concert coming up, this time with "Scalawag", on Wednesday, June 14th at 7 pm AND YOU ARE INVITED!

Yep, one of the benefits of signing up for our newsletter is an invitation to the occasional concert, you're welcome ;-).

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in our midst!

Nicole Leclair uses her camera to catch shapes, colours, and motion. She has developed a passion for crafting delicate and dreamlike aesthetics. Rather than merely being still images, her artworks are carefully curated, exploratory experiences that go beyond a singular moment in time.

WHAT IS COMING UP?

Ray Swirsky is a contemporary western oil painter based in Calgary, Alberta.

Having grown up in the small town of Kimberley, BC, Ray has never lost his connection with nature and this can be seen within the many stunning landscapes and large animal paintings he creates.

As an active plein-air painter, Ray is always seeking to find and copy the colours that only exist in nature. When in the studio Ray works the canvas pushing strong colours with high contrast coupled with a masterful use of light which makes these dynamic works come alive.

Ray's solo exhibition "All in Oils" will be in the gallery from May 31st until June 24th. The opening reception will be held on Friday, June 2nd from 7-9 pm.
